Bakura was walking along one of Domino's many streets, he was heading off to do evil-spirit-from-the-past things, but was in no particular hurry. As he walked he was amusing himself with a cheap 'now you see it, now you don't' magic trick with a shiny, red rubber ball. It was a useful trick he had learned to make expensive jewelery disappear - into his pocket of course.

He closed his fist on the ball in his right hand, and it was gone.

It was now in his left hand.

He made the ball disappear again.

Now it was in his left pocket.

He pulled it out and started over.

Maybe it would have been better if he were using something of more value, because the combination of a cheap toy and a cheap trick attracted the attention of a small, easily amused child. The boy fell into step beside him. "Wow, that's a neat trick, mister!"

Bakura gave a mildly annoyed look to the child. "Do you want the ball, kid? Take it." He tossed the ball to the boy, and he caught it. Hopefully now that the evil creature had a shiny new ball to play with, he would leave the 3000-year-old spirit alone.

"Thanks, mister! But I want to know how you do the trick!" The child followed him still, grinning at him.

"If I told you how I did it then it wouldn't be magic, would it? Now run along." Annoying children. How he did hate them and their foolishness.

"Can you pull a rabbit out of your hat?" The boy was practically skipping along beside him, obviously eager to see more cheap magic tricks.

"Unfortunately I have no hat out of which to pull this rabbit, but I know a better one. I can saw a man in half." Perhaps the kid would take the hint.

Or not. The kid was silenced in awe for only moment, before continuing this rather dull conversation. "Who taught you how to do magic like that, mister?"

The child's high-pitched, prepubescent voice was starting to get on Bakura's nerves. Yet, he still humoured him. "Zork taught me everything I know."

"Wow, who's Zork? Is he a magician?"

Bakura thought for a moment. How could he put it in a way that the child would understand, and preferably be scared by as well? He came up with something that would surely make the boy leave him alone. "Zork is Satan."

"Wow!! That's... That's cool! Will Satan teach me magic tricks too?"

Bakura was mentally beating his head against a wall. Did this child not fear eternal damnation? "Kid, are you sure you don't want me to show you my saw-a-man-in-half trick? I can do it right here, right now!"
