Sam stepped out of his taxi. All he could hear was the normal NYC noise. Tourists, angry cab drivers, car horns, and, if he focused, he could hear a beautiful melody being played by someone somewhere.
He was shaking and his heart was pounding. He had tears in his eyes but tried to keep them from falling.
Just stay calm. Everything will be fine. Sam thought to himself.
He walked up the familiar steps leading to the love of his life's apartment. He knocked on the door and prayed that she didn't have another guy over. He played in his head a million different scenarios. He didn't know what was about to happen but he knew he was going to find out very soon because the door slowly swung open. She actually answered the door.
"What are you doing here?" The woman said coldly. Sam couldn't speak. He could barely breathe. He just stared at her beautiful face. She moved to slam the door shut but Sam spoke up.
"I'm home."
"What did you just say?" The woman questioned
"I'm home," Sam said with the tears in his eyes finally spilling over, "I'm finally where I need to be. I know I said I wasn't going to come back but I'm home. I'm here for you and the baby and whoever else because I love you and I'm not going anywhere unless you can honestly say you don't love me back."
The woman just stood and looked at Sam. So many thoughts ran through her head but only four words came out of her mouth
