A/N: Uhh… So I thought this would have to be fluff…and it's not. The prompt lied!

Written for the Digimon Flash Bingo, #624 - prompt: hey there, gorgeous

Not an Exhibit

She was an idol but she wasn't an exhibit, and some people had to learn that the hard way.

It was better when she had her digimon partners back. It was almost fun to what Mervamon exercise her fanged arms like a whip and Sparrowmon to dive bomb fleeing fans. Naturally they didn't hurt anyone. It wouldn't have been good for PR – and they weren't killers anyway. But frightening off too enthusiastic fans? That was fair game.

So was kicking them in the genitals, but that was a bit coarse. And more direct. And potentially damaging – but she'd rather do the damage than be the one damaged. And she wasn't naïve enough to think that "hey there, gorgeous" from a stranger could suggest a good thing…especially with forward follow-ups.

Sometimes it made her regret. Was the world really that shallow? But she met other sorts of fans too and those ones made it worthwhile. And her brother and friends, cheering her on from Japan. And her digimon, always watching her. The latter two knew her as even more than the idol she was. But even most of those faces in the crowd saw more than just an exhibit.

But she was a general and she'd been used once before and so she had every right to be paranoid. And her brother had been kidnapped right under her nose so she had cause to kick first and question later. But she also had precious friends that hadn't looked like they'd become friends on first impression and precious partners she hadn't thought would become so important to her so probably some of those people genuinely did want to get to know her.

They were going to have to learn to approach a girl with more tact if that was the case. And blame every rotten soul that started a pick-up "date" or worse with 'hey there, gorgeous.'
