Heartbeat

Aang and Katara have been dating for one year now but every time Katara looked at Aang she still could not believe that he was hers. Today was the annual celebration of the day the Avatar defeated Ozai and brought peace to the world. The whole gang was going to go.
"Sugar Queen stop making out with Twinkle Toes, it's time to go" a certain earthbender said. The Avatar and waterbender quickly pulled away from their kiss and had blushes on their faces.
They quickly got up and were on their way to the festival. The festival was beautifully set up with kaleidoscope of colors and many activities. "Ohh custard tarts my favorite!" Sokka exclaimed. Sokka grabbed Suki's arm that had a sad look on her face and mouthed "help". Aang and Katara chuckled. "I'll see you guys later I'm gonna go check out some of the games" and with that Toph was gone. Then Aang and Katara were alone not knowing what to do.
"So what do you want to do?"Katara asked. Aang thought for a moment then knew exactly what to do."Just follow me Katara". Aang began leading her into the darkness of the night. "Where on the earth are we going Aang?"Aang just sent her a smile that made her heart flutter. "You will see".
Before Katara knew it they were at a small pond that glistened in the moonlight. She could hear small waterfalls and candles on smooth grey stones that illuminated the night. The grey stones reminded Katara of Aang's stunning eyes. "Wow Aang its beautiful how did you find this place?"
"I was walking one day and stumbled across it, I promised myself that I would one day sh-"Katara interrupted Aang with a long passionate kiss. Their tongues danced with each other. For once today they felt whole like two pieces of a puzzle. They pulled away for oxygen, and then Aang just fell on the soft grass and starting staring at the stars with Katara in his arms.
She placed her head on his chest which was now very strong from all the bending training. Even with the war over he still practiced all his bending. "What did I do to deserve you?" the waterbender asked. "I should be saying the same for you." Katara gave Aang a quick peck on the check. "I love you Aang"
"I love you too Katara". "Why do you love me?" Katara instantly regretted the words that came out of her mouth and watched as Aang struggled for words.
"Katara….there are no words that can describe what I fell for you. You are the only one who knows me. You make me feel like my life has meaning other than being the Avatar. You make me feel happy. I could not live without you. When I meet you there were instantly stars in the sky and I was no longer blinded by darkness. You showed me the point of life. You stole my heart and it will always be with you". Katara just suddenly kissed Aang to show that she felt the same. Then Katara lay on Aang's chest again. She could hear his heartbeat beat at sync with hers. If it were possible Katara and Aang feel even more in love with each other. They stood there like that not even caring about the festival. Eventually everyone would be looking for them so they got up and heading back to the festival hand in hand. Sokka looked and their hands.
"So did you guys have fun?" he asked. "Plenty" they both said at the same time smiling at each other.
