Title: Birthday Boy

Disclaimer: Do I look like Dan Schneider? I do not own the boys - if I did, the ending to "Josh Is Done" would have contained much boysex.

Summary: Josh thinks Drake forgot his birthday.
Author's Notes: This is my first slash fic. Never thought I'd write slash, but the boys make it way too hard to resist :) BTW, this was supposed to be a drabble, but the boys wouldn't let me stop at 100 words. They can be pushy like that.
Birthday Boy
He knew he shouldn't feel this way. He knew that this was a new experience for Drake - the first time he had ever had a long term relationship with a girl. So what if it caused Drake to forget his birthday? He knew that no one could take his place in Drake's heart. None of this knowledge, however, could completely stop the tiny pang of jealousy that Josh felt when he saw Drake watching TV on the couch with the newest love of his life, a curly haired brunette. Josh shook off the feeling and stepped into the living room.
"Good morning, you two."
The brown eyed beauty sitting with Drake jumped up and ran to Josh, her eyes shining. She threw her arms around him and exclaimed, "Good morning, Papa!" She handed Josh a folded piece of paper with a lopsided cake drawn on it and painstakingly printed letters that said "Happy Birthday, Papa - Love, Caelyn".
"Look," she said, pointing at the card, "I drew the cake, and Daddy helped me spell the words!"
A warm feeling spread through Josh as he looked at the card. He picked Caelyn up and hugged her tightly before before turning his attention to Drake, who had gotten off the couch and joined them. He ran a hand through the smaller man's auburn locks and kissed him gently, silently promising a better thank you later that night, after their three year old daughter was safely in bed.
Drake pulled away after a final kiss and said, "Caelyn, why don't you and I go make Papa a special birthday breakfast?"
Josh suddenly had visions of screaming smoke detectors in the near future. "Caelyn, sweetie, why don't you go find your shoes and you, Daddy, and I will go out for breakfast?"
Caelyn ran off to her room in excitement, and Drake gave Josh a slightly aggravated look. "I can make eggs and toast without burning down the house, you know."
Josh chuckled and pulled Drake close, breathing in the scent of his freshly washed hair. "I thought you forgot - you didn't even say 'Happy Birthday' this morning."
Drake drew back and looked up into Josh's eyes. His wedding band sparkled in the morning light as he cupped Josh's cheek. "I'm sorry. I thought you were asleep when I got up, and Caelyn and I wanted to surprise you with breakfast in bed ."
Josh kissed Drake again, a bit more deeply this time. "I love you, Drake."
"I love you, too."
They were still holding each other when Caelyn came bounding down the stairs wearing her new Disney Princess sneakers. She had also changed into her favorite T-shirt - the one that proclaimed 'My Daddy Is A Rock Star' in purple script.
"Come on", she said, grabbing Drake's hand and pulling him towards the door. "I want to go to IPOP."
Josh followed his husband and daughter out to the car. He smiled as Drake buckled Caelyn into her safety seat and thought to himself, "Best birthday ever."
