The way the Return of the King should of ended

I disclaim any of J.R.R Tolkien's characters, writing or any thing else I might have borrowed.

" I have come ", said Frodo. "But I do not chose to do what I have come to do. I will not do this deed. The Ring is mine"And suddenly, as he set it on his finger he vanished from Sam's sight.

Sam groped forward, and he saw a terrible thing. Gollum was fighting lie mad with an unseen foe. Suddenly Gollum snapped, seemingly at thin air, and pulled a bloody finger out of his mouth. The ring upon it gleamed in the light and heat of the river of lava below.

Gollum began dancing around the dazed Frodo. "My precious, oh my precious, precious, precious." Gollum sang.

" Sam hurry get the ring!" cried Frodo.

" No."

" What!?" yelled Frodo.

"I said NO. I an tired of you ordering me around, the threats, the emotional struggle, I had to carry you up here for goodness sake! And you didn't even destroy the stupid ring. You and your whole ' I will go though I do not know the way'" Sam spat out in a mocking voice.

"Fine. I will get the ring!" With that Frodo began to struggle with Gollum who was unaware of the exchanged words between Sam and Frodo. The loitered very close to the end of the cliff.

Sam seeing his opportunity lunged at the two wrestling figures, pushing them over the edge. A last "My precious" drifted up to him as two sad beings hit the lava with a short hiss.

"Well this is the end Sam Gamgee." came a voice by his side. And there was Frodo, pale and transparent.

"F-Frodo?" Sam squeaked.

"Good bye Sam." With those last words Frodo thrust out his hand pushing Sam over the edge.

To this day it is said that a pale looking creature that closely resembles a hobbit haunts the Chasm of Mount Doom.
