It was a cold rainy day. I had me hood over my head as I walked through the rain. Then I saw him: The bully, Michael. I'm freaking screwed I thought. I wanted to turn around and go back home, but I knew if I did he'd still find me. I pulled my hood down over my eyes and ducked my head hoping he wouldn't notice me. He's not as stupid as most people would think. He grabbed the front of my jacket, lifting me off the ground.
"You think you can sneak past me Jackson? Well tough luck." he said. Then he gave it to me; he punched me in the face then threw me to the ground, and then kicked my ribs twice. " See you after school." The bully and his posy walked away laughing. He always beat me up before and after school, and I always told my mom some lame excuse of what happened. Suddenly I was looking a pair of converse. I looked up; standing in front of me was Annabeth Chase. she helped me up.
"Are you okay? Why do you let him beat you up like that? You can fight back, you can..." She rambled. "No Annabeth, I can't fight back. He's way stronger that me..." She interrupted me with a slap across my face.
"What the frick was that for?!"
"You're Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon . You can control water, talk to horses, you've saved the world more than once. And You CAN stand up to a pathetic school bully, and you will." With that she walked away. I hobbled through my classes and started to walk home; I saw him again, looking at me with a wicked smile playing on his lips. I kept my pace, and he came my way. He stepped in front of me, blocking my way. He brought up his fist ready to hit me, and I cringed. Then I straightened myself.
"HEY! STEP AWAY FROM MR. JACKSON!" We both turn to see Annabeth and the principal, Principal Sanchez, heading our way. Principal Sanchez grabbed the bullies wrist. "How long has he been doing this Mr. Jackson?" he asked.
"All year, sir," I replied honestly. The principal nodded, then took Michael to the office. I turned to Annabeth, who stood there with a small smile, and engulfed he in a hug.
"Thank you Annabeth. Thank you."
"No biggy."
"NO BIGGY?! You practically saved my life. Thanks." She wrapped an arm around my waist; my arm around her shoulders, and we walked to my house for some blue cookies to celebrate my freedom.
Bullying is serious and it's messed up. It makes me sad to know that people will kill themselves because they think it's the best option. But It's just a perminate solution for a temporary problem. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Just by becoming a friend to someone who gets bullied saves their life. Make that change! Until next time,
Au revoir!
