His love kills.

Everyone knows that.

As a baby, the only people he loved were his parents, who died when he was little more than a year old.

He was only just starting to realize his love for Cedric Diggory when the attractive Hufflepuff lost his life in the deadly game of the Triwizard Tournament.

Hagrid went next-- not a romantic love, of course, but love all the same.

Then Seamus, the irrepressible Irishman himself, lost his life-- killed himself when he thought that the Boy who Lived was cheating on him with Ron (which was not true). He was Harry's first boyfriend. And second-to-last.

Wormtail, for some small part of him had been a friend to Harry's parents and was therefore loved by Harry, was disembowled-- slowly, the Aurors investigating the crime had said --when he told his master that he owed a debt of life to Harry Potter.

Sirius was killed by Aurors, the week before the death that could have freed him. It was the night before the full moon. In his grief, Remus forgot to take his Wolfsbane potion and the Aurors were forced to kill him, as well. Harry was still in classes and not permitted to attend their funerals.

Ron, of course, died as the sidekick truly should: defending the hero. It was near the end of sixth year. Hermione retreated to the muggle world, abandoning the magic she worked so hard to study when it reminded her too much of the redhead she'd grown to love. It was at this point that Harry cut out all of his extracurriculars, focusing on the task that he knew he would have to complete before he could be left any sort of peace. He even quit Quidditch, though he continued practiced flying skills on his own-- that might be useful someday. His grades in his seventh year were the highest they'd ever been, second only to Malfoy's, since Hermione was gone. Malfoy was intrigued by Potter now, the boy who was once so cheerful and friendly (at least to non-Slytherins) was now colder and more unfeeling than the blonde Slytherin could ever have hoped to be.

Strangely enough, Malfoy was next. Draco Malfoy, with the talents he gained from his father, managed to get behind Harry's wall of ice exterior and be close to him, briefly. He died as a spy for the Order of the Phoenix, caught by Voldemort. Harry decided it was time to permanently pull out of the dating pool at this point.

Dumbledore died about a year after Malfoy, old age and the stress of Voldemort's return finally getting to him. This was the last day of Harry's life that he ever cried.

The next person to die from Harry's love was Tom Riddle himself. This might seem confusing to most people, as they were never lovers, nor friends. But it was Harry's love that allowed the young boy to cast the spell that gave Tom Riddle his final, long-anticipated rest.

Harry stared into the mirror that night, admiring the blood flowing from the deep slit he'd made at his throat. Ironic, he thought. My eyes are the color of the Avada Kedavra.
