It was halftime, the last halftime of the season, and as if that weren't sad enough ... they wouldn't even be able to perform the show. Due to rain the night before, the field was soggy and soft; it was a miracle the team could even play on it ... let alone the band be able to perform on it. So instead, they would have to perform from concert arcs on the track.

Once halftime came, the band marched theirselves to the track (in the twenty-six degree weather, mind you) and set up their arcs.

The band's first song suffered only slightly from a lack of engergy. The second song, a ballad, went off with out a hitch. Their third song, a piccolo/tuba feature, was when she saw him ...

It was funny really. Sharon had never really expected to see him there, or for that matter, see him standing along the rail watching - intently! But, there he was ... What could that mean? Did it really mean that he might like her, as everyone told her he did? Did it mean he cared about her? Cared about her enough to watch the band, which was her pride and joy, anyway! Did it mean, he truely had feelings for her?

The fourth song went on with out a hitch. She couldn't be happier really ... The night that she had expected to be a let down was turning out quite nicely. First off, the music portion of halftime was performed fairly well. Second of all, he was there.

As she marched off the field a million questions flooded her mind, "Does he really have feelings for me?"

The answer was yes.

In fact, both of them would honestly tell you to this day that he did have feelings for her. Because now, nearly three months later they're both happily together ... both remembering every little detail of the nights he would show up to the games just to say "good-job!".
