"Charms in Medicinal Potions" international wizarding conference, Reims, France.
She is a French resident, making a report in the Charms section.
He is a British wizard come to present his results for the Potions section.
She sees his name on the list of participants, comes to listen and asks questions, safe in the knowledge he wouldn't remember her. He doesn't. Intrigued by her insightful inquiries, he learns her surname, in which she has kept as a part her maiden one, and it comes back to him.
Next, he is present at her report, which he never intended to, afterwards inviting her to dinner for further discussion of their research. When saying goodbye he looks her directly in the eye and repeats one of the phrases they exchanged that night. Floored, she answers in kind, they bow and part ways... Never to meet again?
She was a Hogwarts student four years above Harry and Co (making her Percy's yearmate).
Second year. Intrigued by the impressive movements of the resident bat she tries to make her robes billow behind her when left alone in the dorm. Is caught and mercilessly ridiculed. Therefore never dares utter a word to anyone when develops a terrible crush on the dark and glowering in her fourth year, not even to her best friends. Stands up for him to her housemates on several occasions, spaced out enough through the years that no one drives the connection.
Never aces in Potions yet chooses a career necessitating this NEWT. Receives an E in her OWL and asks for admittance in the class never knowing where she got the gut to do so, and is granted it.
When the war begins her parents urge her to transfer her apprenticeship to Belgium, when she receives an invitation from their main wizarding hospital which she finally agrees to after Dumbledore's murder. Full of betrayed hatred and contempt she struggles to overcome her crush on a certain Potions Master, and fails to completely do so.
Her apprenticeship ends and she is about to accept a position at Beauxbatons when her father is injured during a Death Eater attack which induces her to return to the island and soon after join the Order of the Phoenix, putting to use the healing skills she had acquired. Never being a part of the Horcrux hunt she however learns the events of the night when Dumbledore died from Harry himself. Numb and finally believing herself disenchanted, she works as a junior researcher and Healer at St. Mungo's.
And then one night she unexpectedly finds an unconscious Severus Snape in a full body-bind... "out of sight and out of mind". Hating him, hating herself for the weakness, she is unable to force herself to hand the man over to authorities. After a nasty scene including several well-placed field-medical spells and an exchange of detrimental comments she Apparates away minutes before the holding spell wears off, leaving behind a somewhat stunned Death Eater, believing that the darkness has concealed whatever features he might have not forgotten of a mediocre student.
She never breathes a word of the event to a living soul, and is on the edge of sever depression when the war unexpectedly ends and the truth comes out. Then, she moves to France and eventually meets her husband, never noticing that her crush is no more.
