Oliver's Mission
It was an average Friday before a Hogsmeade weekend. Girls gossiping about whatever they gossiped about and talking about shopping, some people, although very few, doing homework, boys chatting about Quidditch, and the Weasley twins raucously messing around. Nothing out of place.
The twins, doing their usual whatever they wanted, walked up to their Quidditch captain.
"Oliver, cutting to the chase, you like-no, love-Katie. We understand and accept. Accept you. but we heard through our sources…that apparently, Roger Davies does also. Except for allowing him to, well, get near her. And, we also know, she'll say yes to him if he asks first. She's nice, so even if she doesn't like him like that, she won't hurt his feelings. Oliver, last chance. Like really soon. Like tomorrow. She's already in bed, so our sources tell us. Roger also hasn't asked her. Yet. So will you do it?" Fred asked quickly before Oliver could get a word in edgewise.
"Well…okay. But who are your mysterious sources?"
"A mystery."
"How'd you know that I…umm, why do you think I like her like that, I mean," He lowered his voice, "I do like her, but…"
"No worries, Ol. If anyone was thick enough not to figure it out, we won't tell them."
The next morning Oliver woke up to find out in the common room that Katie was already down at breakfast.
"Why couldn't she wake up this good for early Quidditch practice?" Oliver grumbled.
He saw that Katie was getting up to leave, and, shoving his bacon in his mouth, with a wink from either Fred or George, followed her from a close distance. He jumped in front of some Hufflepuff third years and closed in on Katie, Angelina, and Alicia. Sadly someone was already there.
"Roger." Oliver acknowledged.
"Wood."
As they stepped in the carriage, both Oliver and Roger sat by Katie. Oddly enough, they both were leaning the same exact way except in different directions. Angelina and Alicia watched, entertained, from the other side. The two boys both stretched at the same time and reached their arm around Katie, who was oblivious to this happening. The boys hands hit each others, which started them waving wildly. Oliver got to his senses first, however.
"So, Kates," He started, "Do you want…"
But then, Roger cut in and said at the same time, "…to hang out like on a date?"
"Ummm…" But the carriage had just pulled up to Hogsmeade. Katie ran, the other two chasers following their friend.
The boys glared at each other and sullenly trudged out. Oliver walked down High Street, steaming at Roger.
Suddenly, a hand pulled him into an alleyway. Oliver taken aback, tried to hit whoever it was. It was Katie.
"What…" Oliver started.
"Look," she plunged into speaking, "I don't like hurting people's feelings, and I would like to go on a date-with you. And, one other thing." She kissed him.
"So, do you want to hang out at the Three Broomsticks?" Oliver, still in shock, asked.
"Sure, Ollie."
