Don't own Fullmetal.

Colonel Mustang is sitting behind his desk, going through some papers. Major Edward enters the room and flops down on the couch in front of the desk.

Colonel: You look like shit.

Major: Piss off.

Colonel: What, date not pan out?

Major: You would know. You were watching.

Colonel: Only the first half hour. I left after the food was served.

Major: Oh?

Colonel: Usually nothing much happens after that, at least with virgins like you.

Major: Just because I (Colonel gives him a teasing look) Never mind.

Characters pause. Colonel signs a few of the papers on his desk, Major takes out a notebook and begins writing.

It's not going to work out, you know.

Colonel: Oh?

Major: She's a lieutenant.

Colonel: So?

Major: So, no dating someone below your rank.

Colonel: Oh.

Characters pause. A few more papers are signed, Colonel looks back up.

Wasn't that pretty anyway.

Major grunts and walks up to the desk.

Major: Here's the report on the construction work on the new Research building. Puts paper on desk, begins to walk away.

Colonel: You know I could set you up with someone else. There are a few in your rank.

Major: (laughs) No thanks. But I'll get your advice on restaurants again when I do find someone. Leaves.

End of Scene.

This is just a little look at what life might have been like if, after the Promised Day, Ed had stuck around the military and not gone east. I originally wrote it with different names and with the intention of making the military seem more human, but then I realized I was actually writing Ed and Roy. Try acting it out, if you want, and take all the liberties you want.
