The Doctor moves on, he travels here and there but one day while he's with Clara Oswin: he see's a flash of red. It's the year 1965, he's in New York again and he see's red, you know what that means to him. He flashes through the crowd, it was such a quick glimpse, but he finally catches up. He see's an older Rory Williams and Amelia Pond, walking down the block with some grocery bags. He can't believe his eyes, the Ponds, THE PONDS?! It had been a while, 2 years to be exact. He wanted to run up to them and scream "PONDS, PONDS! AMY YOUR PONCHO BOYS ARE BACK TOGETHER AGAIN!" but he didn't. He just looked, he watched them smile and tease each other. They even did that horrible kissing again, which he sometimes remembered as being charming. He watched them walk away from him, probably for the last time. He knew when they died, he saw their tomb stone, he remembered them leaving him forever. That "raggedy man…goodbye" still resonated with him to this day, but he couldn't disturb them. Amelia told him they were happy, they lived a long happy life and they died just as they were supposed to: on earth, together. He watched them leave, and subconsciously went to his pocket and pulled out that last page that told him they were happy. He carried it around with him since that day, and he'll never stop. He let them go, he set them free, they were free of him and the damage he put upon them. He loved his Ponds enough to let them go one last time. And it killed him, it truly did. Later on he would tell River about it, and she'd console him but she couldn't really help. She was a part of them and sometimes that made it worse. He was sad, the Doctor was truly sad. He lost his "gang" once again, he didn't know how long he could keep this up.
"Goodbye Ponds" he muttered. Clara looked at him questionably but he just walked away, back into the TARDIS and back to his life on the run.
