(AN) In this story all the avengers are on earth during the Battle of Wakanda.
Chapter 1
Everyone was tense, they could all tell the battle was about to begin. They were all gathered in the wood before the clearing discussing plans for the fight.
"We need more people" Steve said. Thinking about all the crazy monsters Proxima Midnight had just released on Wakanda's shield.
"Well we could always call upon the Guardian of Earth!" Thor said in his usual booming voice.
"What the hell is a guardian of earth?" Bucky asked.
"Steve doesn't like that kind of talk" Natasha said for the second time. Steve turned bright red at his soulmates comment.
"Their are guardians of each of the 9 realms. They are chosen for the ability to save their realm in the event of a disaster." Thor states
"How do we know it's not one of us then?" Tony asked curious as always.
"Because the Guardian can not be part of a team of any kind to avoid jealousy" Thor answers.
"Well go call him" Tony said as arrogant as usual.
"Actually her name is Lady Sky, I informed her of her new status myself and I very much like her, almost as much as Pop tarts" Thor said with a smile while thinking about his beloved Pop Tarts. Thor then started making odd movements with his hammer, not unlike Dr. Strange's. Suddenly a bright light appeared in the sky above them.
"It should take a minute or 2 for her to get here" Thor said.
"Why don't you tell us about her" Steve said trying to get more information on this mysterious Sky.
"She can move at light speed, vibrate fast enough to run through anything, and she can control lightning!" Thor said was about the ask how Thor knew all this when they all heard a high pitched scream coming from the portal above them. Suddenly a small figure fell through the portal and onto the ground. The portal closed immediately was about to say something when he smelled the most amazing scent he had ever smelled. It smelled like home, it smelled like everything in the world that he loved. He launched himself at her the moment he realised the smell meant she was her soulmate.
Everyone jumped at Bucky's sudden movement. Sky who was still a little dizzy from the 30 minute fall through a freaking portal was also surprised at the sudden movement. She took a deep breath when she inhaled the most heavenly scent she had every smelled. She immediately realized that the man who had just jumped at her is her soulmate. She started vibrating like she does when she gets excited. Bucky, thinking his mate was hurt started getting protective. He grabbed her in a hug like hold and growled at everyone near them.
"Wow, slow down there Buck. We're not going to hurt her." Steve said trying to calm his friend down. Instead of answering Bucky turned away from his friends to stick his nose in Sky's neck on her scent glands. Sky finally calmed down enough to stop vibrating and realize that she was being held by a strange man she had never met in her pajamas because it was 2 fucking am when Thor called her.
"ummmmmm hi" Sky said shyly
"Hi" said Bucky's deep rumbling voice.
"Sorry to ruin your moment but we've got a fight to win." Natasha said obviously trying to get back into her comfort zone, fighting.
