Oliver felt a tremor run down his spine not unlike that of a child running in gym class.
His breath sped up as he gazed upon the other teen of about his same age; Alfred's golden hair that contained about every tone and shade imaginable of yellow as it appeared in sunlight and when he was looked upon in sunlight.
Blue eyes lit up brighter than the sun and smoother in its crashing emotions than the ocean.
Oliver gasped as he felt his breath run away from him at the breathtaking sight of the American that came walking towards him with a brilliant smile just for him.
"Hello." His smile had to have been brighter than the sun with such bright blue eyes that could rival the sky with ease that also seemed to be smiling brightly, and Oliver was hooked like a fish caught upon a fishing pole.
"Hi." Ollie smiled back at once filled with a specific joy and excitement in regards to the presence before him.
"So how were your classes?" Alfred leaned haphazardly against the wall with a nonchalant look upon his face that never failed to light Oliver's insides up as if they were on fire.
"Really good. And yours?" He couldn't help it that his classes were made ten times better when they were shared with Alfred and several times more distracted nor could he help that his last class of the day let him out early, allowing the bright Brit to pick up his friend in his class, and see the way sweat fit around Alfred's frame and the brilliant smiles that were like light upon the earth that Alfred gave out so easily.
"Same." Alfred grinned as he bumped shoulders with Oliver which sent a shock wave through Oliver's body that happened to add to his toes' curling effect; thankfully those toes that curled were tucked away underneath his shoes.
Oliver's mind failed to bring forth on adequate response to Alfred's movement or his single word; the British man couldn't seem to think in close proximity with the American beside him.
Alfred grinned hugely at his shorter friend regardless, "So have any new 'fans' taken to you since yesterday?"
Oliver's face flush an alarming shade of pink as he struggled to think up an answer to that, "Not that I noticed?" It was phrased like a question as if to protect his attitude and judgement though it managed to strengthen a sort of oblivious air that attached itself to the Brit like glue.
"You sure, man? Do you even see the way that Arthur looks at you?" Alfred questioned as if startled by this though many would see it as rather odd or strange that in this scenario, Alfred would finally notice things like that.
"Does he? We're practically family; we grew up together." Ollie muttered in surprise as his mind slightly wandered away at the thought.
"Yeah, how can you not notice?" Alfred only noticed this fact over the fact that it filled the American to the brim with jealousy and made him really wonder who Oliver liked; the sweet Brit had to be Alfred's closest friend due to his strong loyalty and lighthearted kindness that was clearly not forced.
"I just don't." Oliver shrugged; he only really had eyes for Alfred.
"Ah." Alfred stared at his friend as he wondered what could possibly happen to them if he just kissed him; he shoved the thought away as his friendship was too precious to him.
Oliver grew silent in comfort as the two boys walked side by side, and he let his fingers brush Alfred's casually and slightly as if hiding the fact from the American yet confronting him with it all at once.
Alfred let his fingers play with Oliver's in his distracted state before he realized what he was doing and pulled his hand away.
"Sorry."
Oliver frowned at what he heard the American say.
His pink-blue eyes gazed upon the ground in his nervous, angsty, anticipation of what could have been and what Alfred's initial actions meant.
