Nigel Uno was sure of it now.. He was more sure of it than anything else..

He was the last living human on planet Earth...

Nigel could still remember where and when the war went to hell...

The Mushroom clouds filled the air...jets soaring over head. He had been on the Moonbase when it all happened...

He remembered rushing for an escape pod as he tried to call his team on his phone, he climbed into the Pod just as he got through.

"Numbuh Five! Numbuh Five calm down!" Nigel said as he tried to console the adolescent African-American.

"It was an accident, a computer glitch!!! Father's computers just launched nukes at every KND base on Earth, and now we just lanched counter-measures."

"Oh no.." Uno was pale, pale as everyone else in the Pod. He could see the explosions from the window, tiny little mushroom clouds dotting the Earth. He could several cities, New York, Chicago, Houston, Miami..London.. Paris...

He could feel the tears welling behind his glasses, he forced them back. This was no time to cry..

"Numbuh Five..get the team under the groun-" There was a crash... "What the hell was that!?"

"A nuke landed a few miles away! Our windows are blown up and Numbuh Two is hurt!!"

"Hang in there Abagail.. Ill be home soon." Nigel was fighting to keep his voice calm, panic was tearing at him.

"Hoagie is bleeding so bad..damn he is heavy to lift! Numbuh 4!!! Numbuh 3!!!"

"What happened now!?"

"Hamsters!! They got loose!! They got loos-"

Nigel gave up on keep calm at that point, and screamed into the phone

"ABAGAIL!!!!!!"

The rest of the flight was horrid, the ship busted apart mid-flight, the heat shield gave way. And Nigel was slammed down somewhere in what remained of Alaska..

The cold wasteland was harsh to him, sucking away his hope and freezing his soul. He had tried for months, living off of what remained of local game trying to send out a radio message...

No replies..

So he spent the remaining years of his life, drifting across what remained of the United States and Canada...

Corpses..by the millions were all that remained of humanity..

At the age of 89...Nigel Uno died curled up in a ball, in what remained of the treehouse..
