"For the last time, I don't care about you or your problems, Liliana!"
As Jace paced angrily up and down the length of his study, Liliana angrily burst into tears. "Why must you be so obstinate! After all we've been through, you can't spare even a single day of your time for me?" Liliana cried.
"I simply don't have time for your petty squabbles with your demonic overlords. I have real business that needs attending to. Do you have any idea how long it's been since I won a good long game of chess?"
It wasn't that Jace wasn't sympathetic to her plight. Being on the receiving end of a four-way demonic pact was bound to cause some personal problems. Entangling every planeswalking woodland hunter Liliana met along her travels was undoubtedly not helping matters, though.
"Fine, be that way." Liliana spat venomously. "Perhaps I'll just have to bring you with me by force!"
Liliana let loose a blast of necromantic energy towards her surprised planeswalker companion, who instinctively responded with a blast of psionic energy in response.
"Now, there's no call for that! We were having a perfectly pleasant discussion until now!" Jace shouted. While he had supreme confidence in his abilities to best Liliana in a fight under any normal circumstances, he had no idea the effect her recent travels had had on her.
His suspicions were proven right as Liliana's skin began to writhe with black patterns. She uttered a shriek, and Jace could feel the power of her assault redoubling. He could feel himself losing ground to her, and began to fear for his safety if she continued the assault. Deciding to extricate himself from the situation, Jace quickly conjured an illusion of himself charging towards Liliana as a distraction, while quietly preparing himself to planeswalk away.
Liliana, fooled by Jace's illusion, flung herself out of the way of the charging illusion, realizing as she fell that she had been tricked. "You can run, but you can't hide, Jace! I will find you!"
"We'll see about that, my dear." Jace replied smugly as he began to dissolve, letting himself slip into the Blind Eternities. "Take care." And with a cheeky wave, Jace vanished.
