You Came Back

Summary: The war is over and Harry is feeling very isolated. Please disregard Deathly Hallows.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, nothing at all.

Warnings: Implied slash, attempted suicide.

Suicide has never been a thing that had ever crossed his mind. It was a selfish thing and he'd spent his whole life being selfless and doing things for other people. Now, though, nothing was left. Couldn't he be selfish just this once?

Harry considered the dagger hanging on his wall. It was what he, Ron, and Hermione had used to destroy Horcruxes. It seemed fitting, seeing as he'd been a Horcrux himself.

The room he occupied was bare, save for a bed and a cluttered desk. And the weapon on the wall. Harry continued to stare until he got the nerve to place his hand on the handle.

Hermione and Ron were dead; so were the rest of the Weasley's. Neville died valiantly, after slaughtering Nagini. Luna has simply disappeared. The rest of D.A. was gone as well, dying in the effort to rid the world of Lord Voldemort. Severus left Harry when Harry became so isolated he would barely talk.

Miserably, Harry removed the dagger from its mount on the wall.

He made a shallow cut from his elbow to his wrist. There was no pain; he didn't expect there to be. He'd been numb since Severus had left a month earlier. Several minutes later black dots were clouding his vision.

He was on the verge of death when a familiar figured appeared in the doorway. "Potter!"

The man swooped in and pulled out his wand, murmuring a few quick spells. "You're more trouble than you're worth," he growled.

Harry would know that voice anywhere. "Severus, you came back."

"Of course I did, stupid boy," Severus Snape snapped.

Harry smiled as lips kissed his healing wrists. "Thank you," he whispered.

I debated long and hard over the ending of this one shot and I like this one the most.

Reviews are love.
