Character: Alois Trancy

I used to laugh at butterflies
Struggling to flap their wings
Freedom was just an illusion
When entrapped in spider strings
What use is such a short existence
In the infinite loop of time?
Did I speak this of the creature's life
Or did I truly speak of mine?
Butterflies were meager things
With no true futures ahead
They'd just keep attempting to fly
Until they wound up dead
I thought I was a spider
The hunter of feeble life
But looking back upon it now
That couldn't have been right
I used to laugh at butterflies
In their struggle to break free
Because I thought I was the spider
But the butterfly was me
