Hey, everyone! This is my first attempt at a Bones story, so be nice to me. It's simply a short little fluffy oneshot. If any of you are SVU or House fans, you may know me. And if you've never eardof me, I am SVUProductions, and I am a very new Bones fan. I do know that Booth and Brennan are having a baby, so this can be seen as a future fic of sorts.
Disclaimer: As much as I'd love to have a Booth of my very own, I don't, and I only own Joy,.
Seeley Booth had always hated clowns. And the costume that turned him into one was certainly no exception.
At first he had stubbornly refused. But when his little girl had stuck her bottom lip out and fluttered her little eyelashes, he would do literally anything.
And the fact that a hormonal Bones added in the fact that his hatred of clowns was over exaggerated didn't help his situation at all. He eventually decided that he could put up with a clown suit for two hours. After all, it was her fourth birthday.
Blissfully unaware of her poor father's misery, Joy giggled. "Make a funny face, Daddy!"
He let out a soft groan. "C'mon, honey. It's hard to make faces with this red nose on." But either Joy didn't hear him, or she didn't care, because she continued to jump and down as she plead over and over.
Finally he gave in and stuck his tongue out. Hyped up on cake, Joy gigged hysterically and grinned up at him. "More, Daddy!"
He groaned. He was about to raise the corners of his mouth into a goofy grin when Joy's eyes widened. "Daddy! You forgot the lipstick!"
And here I thought I was getting away with that, he thought as Joy hurried out of the room. She soon returned with a brightly colored lipstick in her hand.
The little girl pointed at a nearby chair. "Sit," she commanded, sounding exactly like her mother. Other than having his brown eyes and his mouth, she was the spitting image of Brennan. He reluctantly sat down, and Joy climbed into his lap and started to color his lips with the obnoxiously colored lipstick.
After what felt like hours, she pulled back and grinned, admiring her handiwork with pride that only a four year old could express. "There!" She put the cap back on the lipstick. "Your mouth looks pretty, Daddy."
Booth forced a smile. "Thanks."
Joy, being the creative child she was, suddenly lit up and grabbed several rubber balls and held them out like she was offering him something very valuable rather than colorful toys. "Juggle, Daddy. Please?"
"But Daddy doesn't know how to juggle, pumpkin."
While she was creative, she was also stubborn. But she had obviously inherited the trait from both parents. "Then Daddy can learn." She continued to hold the round objects out. "Now juggle."
He sighed and took the balls from her, and stared at them like they were alien objects for several moments before he tossed them into the air, one by one. He grinned as he managed to catch two of them. The third bounced onto the floor and rolled next to Joy's feet.
Satisfied, she handed it back to him. "Keep going."
"But-
"No buts, Daddy."
There was no way he could win an argument against his four year old daughter, so he found himself trying once again. It took him several long, miserable tries, but Booth finally managed to catch all three. He looked down at Joy. "You see? I juggled."
"Good job, Daddy. Now can you act like an elephant?"
"Joy…"
"But Mommy wouldn't buy me one!" Joy whined. "It's my birthday!" She crossed her little arms over his chest and looked up at him with her big brown eyes. She had him wrapped around her little fingers, and she was quite aware of it and made sure to use it against him as often as she could.
"Fine," he sighed.
Anything for his little girl.
Like I said, short and fluffy. Care to leave a review?
