Yay! So this is my very first fanfiction, I hope you all like it!
My best friend Elsi (AstoriaMalfoy001) got me into Draco/Astoria, and so I owe her so much :)
-This One-Shot was inspired by Ne-Yo's Never Knew I needed... I thought it would fit well for the theme.

Never Knew I Needed
The darkness stirred through the cold, wet night air. Draco Malfoy was going off again, trying to run away from his past and terrible memories. He couldn't keep himself from wishing he could just end the madness before someone else did, they might hurt him worse.
Every night Draco would go out, sitting out by the Black Lake, taking a short (but needed) break from repairing Hogwarts. Instead of imprisonment in Azkaban, due to their change in alliance, the Malfoys were charged with one year of repairing Hogwarts castle. But it was exhausting, and everyday Draco would just up and cry. He went from arrogant to extremely sensitive in no longer than a year. Pitiful.
He caught the shape of a person in the distance, and Draco whipped his wand out. "Lumos! Who's there? What d'you want with me?"
The figure inched closer, and it became clear that the figure was that of Astoria Greengrass, Sixth Year Slytherin.
"Shh, Draco, it's just me. Why are you out here, are you okay?" her voice was calm, sympathetic.
Draco searched her and sighed. "I.. I'm so tired."
Astoria took his hand and gazed deep into his eyes with caring green eyes. "Draco.. I know. Trust me, don't be afraid."
All Draco could feel was a powerful emotion wash over him as Astoria drew near. Her sweet scent filled his nose as she placed her soft delicate lips against his. Their kiss lasted awhile, Draco never wanted it to end. Love was an unusual trait for Malfoys, but right now Draco felt this exact emotion, one he never wanted to lose. He never wanted to lose Astoria herself.
It was then that Draco Malfoy had lost his fears.
