Children care
Stella was sitting in her office just closed a case about a single legitimate mother killed for afraid of not being a good mother to her baby girl. The mother's daughter was only 5 months old. Stella found out that Sheila, that was her victim's name, that Sheila got pregnant with her daughter by a one night stand with a random guy at her university where she works, as a professor. At first glance Stella thought her killer would be the father, but that came out dry. In the end the killer was Sheila's own father. Now Sheila's daughter Diana is at a foster home going through hell. Stella each time thought about that wondered how can he kill his own daughter? Stella has a daughter of her own; she's called Daniella Bonasera Flack. Yes, her husband's is the one and only Don Flack. Daniella is almost the same age as Diana, she would be in 3 days.
Don was walking up to the lab ready to pick up his wife so they could get home and take care of Daniella, the sitter already worked from 9am till now which is 7pm. When Don got to his wife's office, he saw her just sitting there feeling hopeless. He thought it was maybe about her new case, but Don saw the picture of little Diana in her hands. Don knew that case really got to her, but never knew how much till now. Don really wanted to help her but he didn't know how to.
Stella got her things and was ready to leave when she saw Don staring at her. Stella really felt like crying because growing up in foster homes she never really felt loved, but the man standing outside her office staring at her showed love. Stella finally has a place called family. Stella walked out of her office and headed to Mac's office with Don to say she's clocking out for the night. Mac knew their routine but didn't complain because they had a family to look after.
On the way home, the ride was quite, when it should have been filled with laughter. Stella was staring out the window the whole time, wondering how little Diana is doing. Stella wanted to take her in so bad but she doesn't know how Don will take it. Stella looked away from the window and looked ahead at the road. She was going to ask him tonight before they went go to bed.
Once in front of their apartment building, they got out of the car and both headed to the 6th floor to their apartment. By the time they got home it was 7:30pm. The sitter was holding Daniella in her arms and ready to pass that almost 5 months old, curly brown-black haired, green eyes, determined, strong hearted baby to Stella.
Stella looked Daniella in the eyes and all she could see was Diana being pulled away from her hold by child services, seeing that baby cry, wanting her warm, loving motherly hold again made Stella's heart break.
After dinner for the three, and tucking Daniella into bed, Stella asked Don of what he thought about them adopting Diana. Don didn't mind, he knew Stella got really attached to that case, and especially to Diana. Don gave Stella a kiss and said I love to have Diana apart of our little family. Stella jumped with joy kissed Don on the cheek and went to bed. What she didn't know yet is adopting Diana will hurt them even more.
