Okay, I decided 'Let's do another one of these'. So here I am. Only I changed my idea on what I was doing before I got here. So let's see how this goes...
Oh look! It's a guessing game! Of course, you already know who it's about, but...it's still a guessing game!
Revenge.
It's a dish best served cold.
When someone wrongs someone else, that person should get revenge on the person who wronged them, right? That's what the world teaches, anyway.
Some see revenge as justice. If someone does something to you, do it back. It's second nature. It's not necessarily the right thing to do, but it makes people feel better about the whole situation.
Of course, nothing can really right a wrong, but try telling that to the revenge seekers.
Revenge can be something very small. Someone pokes someone, that person pokes them back. Someone hides something from someone, that person slaps them with a fish. Someone steals someone's napkin, that person steals it back.
Or revenge can be something very big. Someone kills someone, they go to jail. Someone steals something worth hundreds of dollars, they go to jail. Someone does something they were told not to, they get scolded...or sent to jail, depending on the situation.
Or if someone breaks someone's heart, that person nearly kills their children.
On that note...
He hated her. Oh, he loved her, but he hated her. He hated her more than he thought he possibly could have ever hated anything.
Why did he hate her so much, especially if he used to love her? Especially if he still loved her through all that hate?
She broke his heart.
They'd been...'together' once. He now assumed that she'd been leading him on, but they'd been really close once. Closer than friends. Closer than best friends, even. He'd loved her. And he thought she'd loved him back.
Apparently he was wrong. He'd always been wrong.
But why would she ever love him when she had the brave, heroic, legendary cat who was now her mate?
And now there was a fire in the camp. Everyone was fleeing to the abandoned Twoleg nest. Everyone leaving the fire for safety.
Everyone except for the five of them.
Him, of course, the one he thought had loved him...and her three kits.
There was no better moment. The timing couldn't have been better.
It was the perfect time for him to get his revenge on her.
He was safe, of course, and she was too. But the three kits were surrounded by fire, and their only escape route? He was blocking it.
He was making them pay her price.
She pleaded for him to let them go. Pleaded for him to save them. But there was no use. He would make them suffer, make her suffer, and nothing would stop him.
Nothing.
He would have his revenge.
And she was so clueless. She had no idea why he would do this to her kits...
It was obvious to him. She'd broken his heart, and now, by killing her kits, he'd break hers.
She'd know the pain he'd felt, the pain he still felt, the pain he'd always feel.
Ashfur smirked as he block the branch that would allow Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, and Lionheart to live.
They were as good as dead now.
He'd finally get his revenge on Squirrelflight.
This is a very interesting one-shot...Not only does it follow the same path as previous one-shots, where there's little to no dialogue, but there's also no names mentioned until the very end...
I...kinda like it, actually.
Only the beginning is a lot of fail, in my opinion. Most of the beginnings of these one-shots are written off the top of my head (I'm not kidding), but not only did I have to look up stuff to get myself writing that, but it's kinda short, too.
Oh well. Enjoy my short themed one-shot.
