Dani walks in to the gym. She sees Nico on the way. "Oh great, just what I need, to be discovered and fixed" she thinks.
"What's the matter?" Nico asks.
"Ugh, it's nothing. My daughter is just heartbroken now. Her boyfriend cheated on her." She looks up at Nico who quickly moves his eyes to the floor. "Nevermind about that, we need to fix this TK situation quickly!"
"What's his name?"
"Whose name?"
"The boyfriend's name."
"Oh no no no no no!..." Dani laughs awkwardly and rolls her eyes.
"What?"
"I am NOT letting you do that thing you do with my family! Absolutely not! You do that for someone else!"
"Ok, if you say so. It seems as though you can't fix it."
"What she needs is time. Some guys are horrible, but she will move on. I can't protect her from everything. We all know how that turned out before…"
"You're so hard on yourself and on others. What's with that?"
"Sometimes, people can do better. I mean it's that – wait a minute, I am always talking about my life. You never talk about yourself."
"What's there to say?"
"You really have nothing to share?" She raises her eyebrows. "Ugh! One day! You will talk! You'll let it out."
"I will." He looks at Dani. She begins thinking of all the things he might be hiding.
"Well, it will probably be good for you."
"I know… I know." Lost in thought, he pauses the conversation. He starts looking past Dani, unable to look at her. He takes a quick second to look at her. She gives her look of sympathy, wishing she could help.
"Sometimes, the hardest part of opening up is finding someone to trust. If you have someone that you feel won't judge you, it will be easier."
"There's not many people I can open to up to like that. I guess I just got so used to worrying about others. It's what I know."
"You need to take care of yourself first."
"I guess there are some things I should be more open about. I'll get there soon."
"Nico, coach wants to see you. The thing with TK's little buddy still isn't fixed." Matt interrupts.
Dani looks over at Nico with her mouth half open. She closes it and smiles. "Do your thing" she says with a smirk. Nico smiles briefly as he turns around and goes with Matt.
Matt looks at Dani then at Nico and walks with him. "What was going on there?" He waits for an answer the whole walk over to the office.
"Where's Santino?" Coach Purnell says with a scrunched face.
"I'll get her," says Nico, before another word was said.
He goes back in the hall, "Dani!" She turns around flustered, not sure what to say.
"He wants you in there too. You know the drill."
"Of course… I should have known!"
Nico waits a minute before turning around towards the office. Dani is caught off guard. "Have something you want to say?"
He thinks about what to say before speaking. "No." He pauses before giving a brief smile then turns to the office. He turns around before going into the office only to see her gone.
Matt looks at him and gets worried. "You ok buddy?"
"Yeah."
Purnell snaps. "Are we done caring about each others' feelings? It's time to care about how to fix this mess with TK's spiritual guidance person."
"Life coach." Matt says with a smirk.
"Whatever. Enough of this garbage."
"I'm on it. He'll be gone soon." Nico says.
"Thank you."
