Author's note: This is one of the few stories I'm probably gonna write that isn't humorous. I came up with this idea a while ago, and I just had to type it. FYI-Jeanora is pronounces Gee-ah-noh-rah. It's a play on my middle name, Jean

The noise and people annoyed him, but this was the only place in seemed he could go. Izuru Kira, lieutenant of Division 3, just stared at his glass of sake, and saw his depressed, forlorn reflection. His eyes were distant, and his blonde bangs hung lower than usual. Gin's betrayal of the Soul Society had really gotten him down. He had trusted in him, confided in him, and even idolized hi Gin. And he had betrayed all of that and ran off to Hueco Mundo with Aizen and Tosen.

"Uh, you gonna be OK?" Rangiku asked

"I don't know; ask me after another 5 cups of sake." Izuru mumbled

"Ya know, you're not the only one who didn't want him to go either," Rangiku said truthfully, "He was my best friend after all."

'I know, but still. Izuru told her

"Whatever, I've got paperwork to do. Rangiku told him. She paid the bartender, and walked out

"Yeah right, she never does the paperwork, unless Captain Hitsugaya makes her." Izuru thought to himself. A bit later, on his 4th cup of sake, Izuru heard a bell ring. He turned to the noise, and saw the 4th seat of his company, Jeanora Mishka. When she saw him, she rushed over and sat down next to him.

"Are you OK Lieutenant?" She asked, her voice filled with concern.

"Yeah, sure, I guess." Izuru told her.

"Really Izuru?" Jeanora asked. The way she said his name surprised him. It sounded so right the way she said it. She really was concerned, and she really did care. Izuru hadn't noticed until now how pretty she was. The long brown hair and big eyes. The thin figure and glasses. All those thoughts boiling up in Izuru's mind confused and delighted him, but he wanted them to disappear. He was still stuck on Gin. So he raised his glass of sake to erase the thoughts.

"No Izuru, don't. Jeanora said, pushing the glass of sake and his hand down. Her touch seemed to drain the effects of the same right out of him. His depression and anger was gone. Her touch lifted his spirits, and when he looked at her, he knew what he saw wasn't sake induced.

"Just tell me what's wrong Izuru." Jeanora said. Izuru decided right then and there to tell her.

"It's Gin; this whole betrayal bit has gotten me down." He told her

"Ah, well that's understandable," She said," I knew you guys were very close."

"We were, I just don't understand why he'd do this." He said

"Well don't try to understand, it's Gin. There must be a reason. Just let it go." Jeanora said kindly.

.Izuru looked at her, and down at her hand, which was still holding his, and the glass of sake down. It looked so right on top of his, like it belonged there. Her eyes shone with care, concern and love. She really did care, and she really loved him. And he decided that he loved her back. Why wouldn't he? She had come all the way into the bar, just to see him, just to see if he was OK. For the first time in a long time, Izuru smiled.

"So you're gonna be ok?" Jeanora asked

" You tell me." Izuru told her. Before she could speak, he used his free hand to bring her face closer to his, and he kissed her. He felt her muscles jump, and he heard her sigh. Her free hand went around his neck, and her other let go of the same glass, and simply rested on his. He released the sake glass and put his hand on the small of her back, bringing her closer. The other hand let go of her face, and went to her head, stroking her hair. Her other hand also went to his head, stroking his hair as well. When they broke apart, his smile was even wider than ever.

" I guess you are ok." Jeanora whispered

" I guess I am, I just needed a reason to be happy again." He told her. And with that, they walked out the door, hand in hand.
