AN: Yes, this is a fanfiction about Hank and Katherine Green from the Vlogbrothers. Yes, I understand they will probably never see it and this is their personal choice in life, but come on. Imagine the freakin' adorableness this would have!
Maybe Just One:
Hank put Henry in the crib at his brother's home in Indianapolis. Sarah was already sleeping and John was busy with his signing so Hank had offered to take care of Henry. Katherine walked in then and shut the door quietly behind her. She went over to Hank and lay her head over his shoulder as she smiled contentedly down at their little nephew. They could hardly believe Henry was almost two years old now and neither could the baby's parents. Hank kissed the top of her head affectionately and she turned and caught him on the lips for a real kiss. He turned to face her and put his hands on her waist. They'd been married for almost five years now, just as long as John and Sarah. Katherine pulled away and laughed as her glasses came off of her face after somehow getting tangled in her hair. She pulled them loose and put them back where they belonged.
"Hey, Katherine," Hank said suddenly, sitting on the arm chair in the corner. Katherine came over and sat on the arm of the chair next to him.
"Yes, honey?" She asked, petting his hair as she often liked to do.
"I think I like the idea of a Henry." Katherine laughed.
"I do, too. He's adorable!" They both looked back to the crib where the eighteen month old slept peacefully with the quilt that Katherine had made for and sent to him when he was just a few days old.
"No, I mean, I think I'd like the idea of a Henry in our lives." He said thoughtfully as he rubbed the small of her back. His eyes were deep in thought and she could tell that he was getting onto a very serious subject.
"What do you mean?" She asked in a quiet voice. He looked up at her, still lost in a sort of dream that was running through his mind.
"I mean, a Henry of our own. Maybe even a Henrina..."
"You would name our daughter Henrina?" Katherine raised an eyebrow and Hank threw back his head in a laugh. "Honey, that's a sweet thought, but I thought we both agreed that we're both a little too busy between our four channels on YouTube, ecogeek, the crops we have out in the field, and all the other stuff. I don't think we'd have time for a baby right now. Even a little Henrina Green." She joked at the last part. He frowned disappointingly for a moment.
"I know, Katherine. I just can't help but think though, that you'd make an awesome mom. I mean, you're already a freaking awesome aunt for Henry and the others, why not turn that awesome onto a kid of our own." Katherine kissed the top of his head then.
"Well, when you put it like that... maybe just one." He stood and kissed her then and when he pulled away her eyes were doleful. "Or two." He laughed and they took each others hands and walked to the bedroom they were staying in, turning out Henry's light as they went. As they lay in the bed, she cuddled up to him and whispered into his chest, "you know, I kinda like the idea of being the next Mama Green."
