Daniel and teal'c loaded the last of their bags into Daniels car as Samantha carter checked her engine.

"Ready to go" Daniel chirped as he shut the boot

"That problem with my engine was bigger than I thought"

"Urg!! Come on Sam we have to be back in time"

"Its fine you guys should get a head start but this is going to take me an hour to fix"

Daniel gave another exasperated sigh and relented, making sure Sam was alright travelling alone and saying farewell to Jack. Daniel and Teal'c took their leave of the Minnesota cabin.

"Right all done" Sam announced less than an hour after the departure of her friends. Seeing the mess in the kitchen from breakfast Sam offered to help clean up yet again claiming she wasn't up to just yet, and seeing as she no longer had to rush home and it was already past 8 o clock meaning it would be 11 before she got there jack offered her the use of his spare room for another night. After bringing her cases back into the cabin jack made his way back to the kitchen where she was drying the dishes, he picked up a tea towel off the hook by the sink and picked up a bowl to dry.

"So ..."

"What? ..."

"I dunno, you u... got any plans ... when you get home for instance"

"I'm gonna finish off those reports you wouldn't let me do the other day. And i hear SG9 brought some interesting stuff home"

Placing the bowl he was drying in the cupboard just behind Sam's head jacks arm came down to rest on hers.

"Stuff huh"

"Yeah"

Jack almost smirked at the shy, nervous look in her eye and kissed her chastely on the lips.

"So, you?"

"I'm heading off to DC; I got a transfer o home world security"

"Really?"

"Yup you send in your resignation you get a promotion, you oughta try it"

Sam smiled "so who's going to replace you?"

"Good friend of mine, General Landry. Beer?"

The next morning Sam awoke to the smell of pancakes and syrup. After breakfast coffee and conversation Both Sam and jack set off for home. They met up in a restaurant in Norfolk, Nebraska for lunch before travelling the final leg of the Journey home. Jack made the announcement of his departure the very next day and introduced the new commander of the SGC. After tying up a few loose ends Sam decided to request for transfer to area 51, she had gotten custody of Cassandra and thought she could benefit from a more stable home life than a guardian who was always disappearing on weeklong missions. It wasn't long before both teal'c and Daniel had both left the SGC.
