Kids this is the story of how your Aunt Robin and Uncle Barney stopped talking to each other. Those were some tough weeks, especially for them. For one thing you do not want to see Aunt Robin angry. You will be so frightened that you're up all night, trying to not replay the image in your head… Trying not to cry for the fourth time that night, slowly whimpering in pain… Where was I? Kids your Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin mean a lot to all of us and well I don't know what we would do if they weren't with us…Your Uncle Barney was gone for an amount of time and things changed. But when he got back, things changed even more.
Ted was waiting at the usual booth for his best friends. He was contemplating about the past memories he had with his best friends. Boy did he have some good times! But there was one thing missing and it was one of his best friend's Barney. He couldn't even remember the last time he had seen him. Ted looked at his watch and took another sip of his beer. His friends should be here any moment. Right when he looked at the door, three of his best friends walked in. They all sat down at the booth joking about Marshal and his crazy thoughts.
"What did I miss?" Ted asked questionably interested. Robin rolled her eyes then pointed her finger at Marshal. She then shook her head and laughed.
"Marshal wants a pimple that could talk and sing Michael Jackson," Lily chirped in. Ted looked at Marshal who looked kind of embarrassed but was laughing. Ted thought about it for a brief moment and thought it would be kind of cool.
"I am just saying… If a pimple could sing Michael Jackson, you'd be one hell of a person to meet!" Marshal put up his hands in a defensive way. Ted grabbed a nut from the table tray and cracked the shell.
"Okay, enough about Michael Jackson! Ted, how was that date of yours?" Robin asked.
Ted shuttered at the thoughts of the date that happened yesterday. He had never met a woman like this before and he wanted to see more of her.
"Ted? On a date?" That voice sounded so familiar. They knew it was near but it has been such a long time. Ted turned around to see Barney sipping scotch at the bar table. He simply tapped the glass with his finger and smiled at his friends. Ted jumped out of the table booth and hugged one of his best friends. They both tapped each other's back and the rest of the gang hugged Barney; except Robin. They haven't seen Barney in God knows how long! They missed him so much!
"How have you been?" Ted exclaimed.
"Thanks for answering my calls buddy!" Marshal slapped him in the face before he could respond.
"That's four!" Barney put a hand to his face and whined in pain. He looked at Lily who just shrugged her shoulders. He gave a soft groan and gave them all a hug again. As they were in a group hug, he looked up to see if Robin was there. She was gone. His smile slowly disappeared but he had to put on a show for his friends.
"How's life been?" Barney looked up at Marshal for even asking that question. He simply put up his hand and said, "Please." Marshal smiled to one of Barney's best catch phrases.
"Where have you been living?" Ted asked slightly tapping Barney on the arm. Barney really wanted to catch up with his friends but he was too distracted. Robin was now on his mind. Barney grabbed his phone and made it look like he got a call. Barney made up a fake phone conversation and everyone became gullible to it. When Barney hung up the phone he told his friends he had to go. Everyone nodded and gave him another hug.
"Your not leaving are you? You just got here!" Lily exclaimed. Barney sighed to the answer and said, "No. I'm back for now." Barney then took another sip of his scotch and said goodbye to his friends. When he left the bar he let his heart take him where he belonged. He found himself in a cab and before he knew it; he was knocking on a door.
