Haunted by Darkness

The nights seemed to grow longer as the days of summer grew few. The humid air was filled with the scent of rain. Kagome lay awake, entertwined in the soft sheets of her bed. She yawned sleepily, but refused to allow slumber take her. It was her sixth night without sleep. Hell, she'd make it seven or more if need be! "I just don't want to have that dream again..." she mumbled as she began to recall details of her dream.

The day was warm, and the scent of sakura blossoms filled the air. The sun shown brightly down on most of the area as the group made their way along the dirt path. Kagome laughed as she heard Sango scream at Miroku, who had once again groped her. Shippo chirped, happily riding in Kagome's bike basket. Inuyasha walked ahead, mumbling something incoherant. It was as if it were any other day, however, fate would make this their unlucky day. The skies suddenly darkened, gaining a gasp from the group. Kagome shivered. This wasn't good.

"What the?" she heard Inuyasha say.

"What's wrong?" she asked, quickly turning to him. And there stood her answer.

The door creaked loudly, snapping Kagome from her daze. Kagome quickly sat up, and jerked up her notebook to throw as a measily defense for whoever the intruder was. "Don't come any closer!" The door squeaked a little more. "I mean it!" This time, it came further open. She threw the book and heard it hit. Quickly, she turned on the bedside lamp to see none-other than....

"Bouyo!" she gasped. "Don't scare me like that!"

The cat just meowed as the notebook fell off of it's round face, and it turned tail and ran.

Kagome sighed then decided to listen to music to keep her awake. "Atleast until dawn." she said as she plugged in her ear phones and began blasting the music.
