A blank sheet, crisp with potential, is set before her.
The artist stares with a loving eye, scarcely able to believe that this is it, and that every moment from now on makes a permanent mark.
All is under her control.
She knows how the spirits felt, when the waves parted and out of dry ground and empty space came vibrant life.
Strokes of paint, quick and smooth, more every second. White spaces are filled, colours blend, colours are washed away.
She holds her newly-born Hope closer, smoothing her hair, hoping her daughter will be only the brightest colours.
