A/N: So in my story Ask A Love Goddess, in a review randomperson decided to ask the love goddesses about how they think Athena and Thoth would meet. Instead of being boring and just saying it in the chapter, they decided to write a fanfiction and have me, Rachel, type it for them! This will most likely be a one-shot story. Enjoy!
"I guess I should go and get some fresh air", Athena decided.
She had been spending all of her day writing a new essay on how easily the life of a mortal can be affected by the simplest things when she decided she should save the rest of the writing for another day. After all, being immortal, she had all the time she needed.
Athena went to her favorite internet café in Memphis, The Brew. As she sat down in the slightly worn cushioned seat, she decided she would order her favorite latte.
"Excuse me, miss?" called Athena to the passing waitress.
"Hi honey! I'm Glinda! What would you like?" responded the waitress.
Athena couldn't help but notice her obviously dyed blonde hair, short skirt, and ample chest exposure. "Seems like she could be one of Aphrodite's daughters," Athena thought to herself.
"I would like a Pumpkin Spice latte please. Go easy on the foam."
"Absolutely!" chimed Glinda. "I'll have that for you in a sec!"
As Athena watched the waitress skip away, she immediately thought of a new idea for her essay and reached in her pockets.
"Oh, man! I left my idea pad and pen at home! Why would I do that?" Athena mumbled.
"Need a pen?" a rather deep voice asked.
Athena looked up and saw hypnotizing kaleidoscope eyes. Instantly she went red for thinking such a thing about a man, even if only about his eyes.
"Why yes, thank you," Athena answered, noticeably flustered as she accepted his pen.
"Mind if I sit here?" he asked.
"Um, sure!" was Athena's answer. She then silently scolded herself for using such casual language such as 'um'.
"So, I'm Thoth. Technically I'm Djehuti, but everyone calls me Thoth."
"Nice to meet you, Thoth! Are you Thoth as in the Egyptian god?"
"Yep, that's me! And judging by how sharp you are, I'd have to say you're Athena."
"Correct!" Athena was appalled at how accurate he was.
"You're lattes here, miss," interrupted Glinda.
"Thank you very much!" replied Athena, even though the waitress was already gone.
"So, what brings you here with the mortals?" said Thoth, attempting to revive the conversation.
"Well, sometimes I like to go out and treat myself to a latte every now and then. What brings you here?"
"Well, the Duat becomes boring, so I choose to stay here." Thoth said as he opened up his silver laptop, which Athena finally noticed.
"Oh, I see you're writing an essay too?"
"Yep. I usually have an ibis do it, but today I had extra time."
"Well, I'm about to leave. Can I trust you to make sure my payment remains on the table?"
"Don't bother, I'll pay. Bye the way, can I have your phone number, just to keep in touch?
Athena, now noticeably blushing, writes her number down on a napkin.
"Thanks. I'll call you later. Goodbye."
"Bye!" Athena half-yelled as she left the café.
"This is ridiculous, Aphrodite is probably messing with my emotions!" Athena rather angrily mumbled to herself. But deep down inside, she knew that her feelings for Thoth had nothing to do with Aphrodite.
D'aww! So cute! I hope that wasn't too fluffy or short. This is my first time writing a little story like this. Criticism is welcome, flaming isn't!
