Selphie wonders when Kairi and Sora and Riku will come back.
They really haven't been gone all that long, maybe a few months, but Selphie was never a very patient person so it seems like ages.
At first she would sometimes forget and run around the islands yelling their names --because maybe they would want to play blitzball with her and Tidus and Wakka -- before she remembered, but now she resigns herself to the fact that if she looks for them she will not find them and they might never play blitzball again.
She waits for them on the beach almost every day, collecting a shell each night to keep track of time, and she cries because she was never very good at waiting and her bedroom is flooded with shells.

Selphie wonders when she will forget Kairi and Sora and Riku.
It's already happening, bit by bit, and she knows this because she cannot remember Kairi's eyes (the color she had always been a bit jealous of) or Sora's laugh (if she were a cartoon character she would've been blown over by the force of it) or Riku's smile (it was more like a teasing smirk than anything).
She doesn't know why she can't remember these things because usually she is very good at remembering small details (if not so much the large, obvious ones--she's funny like that), like the birthdays of Tidus' dead pets or Wakka's food allergies.
She writes their names down on a slip of paper and puts it under her pillow so she hopefully won't forget them completely, and she cries when she realizes it's all that's left.

Selphie wonders who Kairi and Sora and Riku are.
When she woke up that morning and threw her pillow at the alarm clock, she noticed a small piece of paper with those names scribbled on it. She doesn't remember writing them.
Her walls are full of pictures she doesn't remember taking, her arms are covered with friendship bracelets she doesn't remember giving, and there are a large number of shells scattered over her floor, shells that she knows have some sort of significance (but she can't recall what).
Selphie wonders vaguely if she's losing her mind.
She swings her legs over the side of the bed, picks up a conch shell, and brings it to her ear.
Instead of hearing the ocean, she hears voices, distant and incomprehensible, and in her mind flashes a picture of indigo and blue and aquamarine, and she cries because she knows she's waiting for something that may never happen, and she doesn't remember why.
xxx ---- fin.
mmkay, so I switched it up a bit
so that Selphie forgets everyone
instead of just Sora, because
otherwise this just wouldn't work.
