A/N: I've taken out the lyrics to Taylor Swift's song Invisible, but they are hinted at in the dialogue and Regulus' thoughts. Also, the paragraphs aren't necessarily related, they're more like oneshots of different scenes between Regulus and Severus. (btw, there is very, very mild slash. Don't like it, don't read it. But like I said, it's very minor. You quite possibly won't even notice it)

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. Unfortunately that means that I do not own Regulus, Severus, or any of the other characters mentioned here. :(

"Severus…" I whispered, watching him stop dead when Lily walked by, her gaze never leaving James' face as she passed him. Severus' gaze followed them until they left the hall; almost exactly mirroring my reaction whenever he walked past me. He continued walking, unaware of my gaze on him.

We passed each other in the halls almost every day, because he had potions right before me. I just know we'd be perfect together, Severus, if you'd only give me a chance…but instead you spend your time staring at her. I'd watch him as he walked past me, his beautiful dark eyes cast downward. Why do I have to be invisible to you, Severus? I'd silently ask as he continued past me, never once looking up to acknowledge my gaze.

I never could understand why no one else could see past Severus' looks. They couldn't see the inner flame that fueled him, made him passionate and strong. Even I couldn't always see it; it only shone through when he was angry or when he'd gotten an idea for a new potion to try. Can't you see that she's too blind to see how amazing you are? I wanted to scream at him when he kept glancing at Lily. She's been too corrupted by Potter to see you as anything but an ugly git.

Sometimes I just wanted to shake him, or grab him and kiss him; anything to make him see me. I was even jealous of my brother sometimes; at least he got attention. I'd give anything for even half the attention he gives Sirius. "All the Blacks are worthless," He'd snapped at Lucius once when they were discussing the latter's eminent marriage to my cousin Narcissa. What about me? I'd wanted to scream.

"S-Severus, I-" I stammered, holding out his textbook. He snatched it from me, his dark eyes scathing.

"You're just like your brother, Regulus." He growled, and I felt tears welling in my eyes as he walked away. I sank down onto the stairs slowly. Why can't he see that I was defending him? I'd never be as heartless as my brother. I'd yelled at Sirius to stop when I saw him tormenting Severus once again, and I'd tried to stop him from throwing Severus' books down the stairs, but Severus hadn't seen that. He'd only seen what he'd expected to see: me, following in Sirius' footsteps. He's just as blind as Lily. I realized with a shock.

"But I love you, Severus…" I whispered as he walked away after very curtly turning down my invitation to the Yule Ball. After all these years…I'm still invisible to you…and she's still everything you want… She doesn't even know you, Severus…how can you be this blind…how can you hurt me like this?

Okay…well that turned out much sadder than I intended. Anyway, please favorite and review. :)
