The faceless men were coming closer. Their clothes were stained with blood. Closer, closer... Hawkeye Pierce woke with a start. It had been about three months since the Korean "Police Action" ended. The horrors that he had seen there haunted him in his sleep. When the bloody figures didn't plague him, the mental image of the woman he loved did. However, when he saw her, he didn't scream, he moved forward in delight. Except... the image always moved away, reminding him she was always just out of his reach. He kicked himself about once a day for not telling her how he felt before they left Korea but he had worked hard to obtain the friendship that they held and didn't want it ruined by telling her that he wanted more than a friendship, he wanted to marry her, to be able to hold her in his arms for an eternity.
