Not The Devil

A Pokemon fan fiction

I do not own Pokemon. I do seem to be one of the few that believe that Giratina is NOT the pokemon devil however.

Dear people of the Sinnoh region,

Whenever I walk or fly with Giratina, I hear the whispers and the nasty rumors that spread about him. Giratina has been called evil, an abomination, and the pokemon devil behind our backs and sometimes even to our faces. People give us a wide berth, sometimes running into their houses and locking the doors, despite the fact that Giratina has NEVER done anything to harm anyone. Some "brave" souls have even thrown holy water at him or tried to use a crucifix on him(which has NO effect on him besides having him turn around and give said person a weird look). Why do you think you can judge him without even knowing him? You don't know the real Giratina like I do.

What you either don't know, or don't care to admit is that it was Giratina that saved the world. Cyrus, the leader of Team Galactic had captured the legendary pokemon Dialga and Palkia and was attempting to use their powers to destroy our world to create his own, one free of spirit. The only people standing against him that day on Spear Pillar were myself, Cynthia, and my best friend, Barry. We had defeated his goons, but we couldn't stop him as he used the Red Chains to control Dialga and Palkia. The Lake Trio(Azelf, Uxie, and Mespirit) arrived to help, but they were unable to stop him either. It was the worst moment of my life. Just as all hope seemed lost, Giratina burst into the real world, grabbed Cyrus, and pulled him into the distortion world, which freed Dialga and Palkia and saved all of our lives.

In his haste, Giratina had accidentally left the portal to the Distortion World open, and Cynthia and I followed him through. With the help of the Lake Trio, we managed to navigate through the Distortion World and find where Giratina had gone. The moment I found Giratina, I ran up and launched myself at him in a hug while thanking him over and over. If he had been any smaller, I probably would have knocked him down! I really surprised him, but he managed to catch me and hug me back. Probably the first thank you he ever got. And I'm not going to let it be the last.

Of course I caught him and he came willingly; practically dived into the Master Ball. As his trainer, I can tell you he's one of the most wonderful pokemon you could ever have. Loves to battle, fiercely loyal, and has a protective streak a mile wide. The exact opposite of the monster you claim him to be.

Giratina deserves a hero's medal and applause, not the horror and hatred you've been treating him with.

Sincerely, Dawn

The Dawn in this story is the one from Pokemon Platinum, not the anime.

No offense to anyone who agrees with/writes the Giratina is the Pokemon Devil thing, but I just don't agree with it. If you remember it WAS Giratina that stopped Cyrus and saved the world in Platinum. When's the last time Satan saved the world? Plus, despite its scary Pokedex entry, Giratina has shown no real violence to the player character(or even Cyrus) besides the normal pokemon battle which every other pokemon does.
