Prologue
Sitting high in a tree, the lifeless hanyou stepped down, his feet touching the ground. He looked around…. or at least tried to. Twak, went a breaking twig, not to far off.
"Keade?" he asked sullenly.
"No, Inuyasha, its Kagome."
He eyes opened, his empty, roaming eyes. "Where are you?" he asked hopelessly.
Kagome grabbed his arm, "Right here." she said.
He smiled lightly, "Take me to Keade…. we need to discuss my… state." he ordered. She nodded, as if he could see it, and took him to a hut in a nearby village.
"There ye be, Inuyasha." Keade greeted. "Thank ye, lady Kagome. Ye may leave now." Kagome nodded to Keade, giving a hopeful glance to Inuyasha, and walking over to her other friends, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo. Inuyasha sat crossed legged on the floor.
"Keade…" Inuyasha said softly. "Have you found a cure?"
Keade closed her eyes, and softly shook her head. "I fear they be none, Inuyasha."
He shot up. "NO! There must be!" he roared. "I can't… go on like this…"
"Like what?" Keade persisted.
"Nothing…. you'll understand what I mean when you awake to the darkness." he said darkly.
"Inuyasha… would ye kindly explain what happened?"
He took a short breath. "...No."
"It doesn't matter. You're fine the way you are." she said truthfully.
With that he walked in a random direction, Kagome's scent of roses and tulips fresh in his mind.
Inuyasha... she thought. Wh don't you trust me?
They were right, you know. Even as a hanyou, when he lost his sight, all of his other senses increased.
