Going to the Train Station was one thing. But going to the train station and finding Platform 9 and 3/4, that was another. My name is Tahlia Avery Avalon-Weasley and I'm a witch about to attend Hogwarts. I received my letter about today. I had 3 days but McGonagall said you can arrive 24 hours early. Now for me, my predicament is rather weird. Take a wild and wacky guess as to who I'm raised by? If you think it's Harry Potter, Hermione or Ron, you're wrong. But Ron knows him. I'm alongside his nieces and nephew. I'm younger than his nephew though, so that's a plus. I'm the adoptive daughter of William 'Bill' Weasley and Fleur Delacour. Bill got a little home built on campus for us to live in. I'm nervous but excited to start my first day of school. The wand I got from Diagon Alley was made from Elmwood, with a dragon heartstring core and unicorn hair. Don't ask.
"You ready to go?" Bill was curious and I nodded as he put me on the luggage carrier. "This will look scary but it's not," he promised as he ran us at a pole and I gulped before noticing we went through it. "See? Platform 9 and 3/4 has a secret little spot. Now hop off. Fleur and the others are waiting at the Academy," he chuckled. I nodded and as the train pulled in, we walked over to our seats and shut the door. "It's a good 2 days. Want to sleep?" I nodded and he smiled before grabbing a blanket from above me and wrapping me in it. "I'll wake you when they bring food around." I nodded and as I fell asleep, I heard him turning pages. He's studying then. As much as Bill is a Curse-breaker, he loves to read up on some things. He's still a big reader and most times it was on wand technique or on charms to help us.
After what felt like a 10-year nap, which was nice by the way, I felt shaking. "It's too early," I mumbled.
"It's dinner hour. I ordered you something small but regardless. Wake up. Washroom breaks are also important." I sat up and sadly he's right. I opened the door and saw the sign for the washrooms and walked over. As I shut the door I locked it and took this time to think straight. He's still a Curse Breaker for Gringotts Bank. He has an account for me and his 3 children. Yes, I separate myself from them. As much as he and Fleur shower me with their love, I can't get too attached. One day it'll be just like my mother, I'll be abandoned.
"Tahlia?" Oh no. He's worried. I stood up and washed my hands and face before coming out. "There you are. Everything alright?" I nodded and he smiled before taking me back to our cabin where there was a good amount of food. "Take what you want. We'll be eating breakfast about 8 tomorrow and arrive at the school by hopefully 11 tomorrow evening. Fleur and your siblings are waiting for us there hopefully," he chuckled. I nodded and took a small bit of soup and a piece of bread. "You've been quiet. Even in sleep. You're thinking about something. Out with it," he pleaded.
"You and Fleur wouldn't abandon me right?" He swallowed the mouthful he had and looked at me. "I was in Diagon Alley, at Ollivanders. I met a girl there, she knew I was your daughter via adoption. DOn't know how the word spread but regardless. She was saying how she wasn't shocked that a Curse-breaker pitied someone like me. It was only a matter of time before you ditched me somewhere," I sighed.
"That will never happen. Fleur would kill me if I did that to start, but there's another reason it will never happen. I would never abandon you. Your mother, she was a fool. I knew her when she worked with me and Fleur at Gringotts. The goblin that has the room at our little cottage, which is now our summer home. He knew too. She'd lie to get more money. That goblin saw you one day when you were about 3. He saw you behaving and your mother yelling at you. He spoke to me in private about it and said if he ever found you abandoned that he'd want someone like me to get you out of there. So when he found you upside down and alone, that's why he brought you to me. That's why Fleur and I took you in. Was because we promised we'd be there for you," he answered. I nodded and I actually felt tears prick my face and he came over to my side and held me to his side. "Don't you ever feel unimportant. You are as important to me as my son and my other two daughters. You are one of my daughters," he whispered.
