The Harry Potter characters belong to wonderful J.K. Rowling. Peter Pan belong to J. M. Barrie and his heirs. The 2003 Peter Pan movie belongs to, I don't know, the Universal Pictures?
WENDY
All children, except one, grow up.
Peter Pan
- It's a muggle fairy-tale, right?
-Yes.
The boy plays with her hair, wraps the locks around his fingers, caresses the tips, braids them. He seems to love her hair.
- You could be my Wendy.
- And you'll be Peter Pan?
- Of course.
She giggles and with typical childish logic, she refuses.
- You're too old to be Peter Pan. He was a child, like me. Moreover, I would never want to be a child forever.
He smiles, he never laughs.
- That's why you would be a perfect Wendy: she either didn't want to be a child forever. Therefore she leaves Peter to grow up. Beside it isn't true I'm not cut to be Peter Pan: just like him I'm never going to become old, I'll never become a man. I will forever be as young as I am now.
- But you are old.
The little girl opens her eyes wide and, realizing how it sounds what she said, she hurries to correct herself.
- No! I didn't mean, I mean… What I wanted to say was that you are old to me. You are older than me and for me you're basically a grown up already.
He draws her closer and kisses her lightly on the brow.
- Then I could be Captain Hook.
She giggles again.
- You are not evil enough and moreover if you are Hook and I am Wendy… Does it mean that you want to kill me?
- No, Hook didn't want to kill Wendy. He forced her to walk the plank only because she had rejected him. He wanted her for himself but she told him no.
The boy eyes becomes distant and he hugs the little girl a little too tight.
- Wendy and Captain Hook? Isn't he a little too old for her?
- No, he didn't want to bed her…
She blushes and giggles again.
- … he wanted her as a companion, someone to speak to, someone to spend time with. You see: Captain Hook was a vicious and cruel pirate but he was also so very alone. No one among his crew cared for him, beside Smee perhaps, and he had nobody to have an intelligent conversation with. Pirates are stupid, you know. Wendy would have relieved his loneliness, she would have been a distraction and… who knowns? Maybe once she would have grown up they could have married. There weren't many women in Never Land.
The little girl seems to consider the idea for a moment and then she shakes her head in denial.
- Wendy likes Peter. No way she would have chosen Hook over him. She is a child and children stay with children. But don't you worry, Tom. You are not Captain Hook and if you want I'll be your Wendy. I will always be with you and keep you company so you'll never be alone again.
Now Wendy lays on a dump stone floor and Hook's shadow covers her.
- Peter Pan cannot save you.
Hook hover her unconscious body, he seems unable to leave her.
- We could have been great together, my beauty, but you preferred Peter over me. You broke my heart. You said you were never going to leave me and then you betrayed me. I won't let you fly away with him. Today you'll die. You'll never grow old, never grow up. You'll never ever leave me again.
Ginny cannot hear him anymore.
