The One Where Hermione Fails

Hermione Granger along with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley sat occupied in Potions Class as they nervously waited for their test result. Their teacher of course hated them, but that didn't let the trio get put down. Harry was brutal at potions most of the bad times, while his best friend Ron couldn't even make a simple antidote. However Harry's other best friend Hermione could make the most complicated potion and was currently in the process of making the Polyjuice Potion.

Hermione sat nervously as Snape reached their table, as he read out Harry's grade of an Acceptable loudly so that Draco Malfoy could gloat about Exceeds Expectations grade. He then turned to Ron and read out his grade of a Poor, but Ron didn't really care. Hermione then watched as Snape turned to her and whispered with a sinister smile

"Granger looks like your starting to slip".

Hermione started to panic as he read out her grade of a TROLL.

Hermione looked at him in shock, she thought she had done enough for a pass but obviously she didn't. As the bell rang, she hurried out of class and ran off. Ron and Harry looked at each other with a pained expression; it was going to be a eventful night. They both thought for a moment where Hermione could run off and then they realised. Suddenly they took off at a pace, up the giant moving staircase and onto the second floor. They slowly now walked down the large hallway, past the message on the wall talking about how Hermione could have failed. They came to a door and looking for signs of a student, they crept in.

Hermione was sitting on the floor beside the cauldron of Polyjuice crying. Harry felt sorrow for her and Ron ran over to her and put his arm around her. She placed her head on his chest and wept. Harry didn't want to disturb this romantic moment so he looked to Ron and give him the sign he would leave them be.

Harry tip-toed out of the girls toilets and started to walk to the common room, as he was walking down the hallway he noticed Ginny Weasley in an empty classroom looking confused and writing into a book. Before he could go in to see why she was on her own suddenly he was poked by no-other than Snape.

"Now what would you be doing up here where everyone else is down at dinner in the Great Hall?" he snared.

"For the last time" Harry shouted "I didn't attack anyone!"

"Watch your mouth Potter" replied Snape sharply "or do you want detention for a month?"

Abruptly Ginny Weasley stepped out of the classroom and walked out as Snape eyed her.

"Up to the common room now Potter or else" spoke Snape.

Harry began to walk off but then he swiftly stopped and turned to Snape.

"Professor?" he asked "Why did you fail Hermione?"

Snape looked to him in surprise "That is none of your business and since for your pure cheek, five points from Gryffindor."

Harry looked to him with hatred and than walked off, his mind wondering why Snape had failed Hermione.
