Seconds from death
I lay; yet it still
seems like eternity.
I close my eyes
and wait calmly, knowing there is
hope yet still.
I close my eyes
and feel afraid
as the darkness comes.
I close my eyes and
think as I slip away.
Hope will guide
the children.
And now as death comes
and the dark gives way to light,
I believe in the legacy that
will be.
And then I see him
Arrive to carry me
Away. His hand takes me
From this place.
The hand of the Ellimist...
