Prompt:Write about Hermione in a cliche plot.

All this came from her curiosity about where exactly Purebloods had gotten the idea that Muggles could steal magic from witches and wizards. It had taken Hermione a year to discover a battered aged record that state to stop war breaking out centuries before a group of Witches were forced to wed Muggle men. To make sure that these women did not just kill their husbands after they were wedded an ancient spell was used to bind their souls together. It wasn't long until the men started showing signs of having magic, thus began the stories that magic could be stolen.

Hermione wasn't to know that after she made her findings public that the Ministry would get it into their heads to enforce the same thing only on a bigger scale to keep the peace. The only difference being that Muggleborns were being forced to wed Purebloods or Half bloods then having their souls bonded together whether they wanted it or not.

A few at the beginning had refused to comply with the law at the beginning, but they were arrested and no one had heard from them since. No one knew where they were or what had been done to them.

Hermione had hoped that after everything she had done to help Harry defeat Voldemort that maybe she be matched with one of her friends. She wasn't, she was forced to marry Blaise Zabini and the so called painless soul bonding which was actually agony took place.

She knew Blaise wasn't happy about it either and his mother down right hated the whole thing. There was nothing that could be done the only way to reverse the bond was death and Hermione didn't spend all that time trying to stay alive during the war to die now.

She was stuck with Blaise for the rest of her life and he was stuck with her. Hermione knew he wasn't a bad person and he was smart, handsome and funny at times, but Hermione didn't love.

Not even now that she knew his child was growing inside her. Both Blaise and his mother couldn't be more excited about Hermione's pregnancy while she didn't know how she felt about it. She had always wanted children, but with a man she loved and who loved her.

Hermione didn't doubt that she would love the baby when it was born nor did she doubt that Blaise would love their child. However, as the child grew it would know that there was no love between Hermione and Blaise.

And she feared that this might have great impact on who her child became as an adult.

She didn't talk of these fears to Blaise because there was no point they were stuck together whether they liked it or not.
