Bellatrix stood on the edge of the Forbidden Forest watching Alice Prewett walk away from her.
'I never thought I would feel this pain' she thought to herself.
Bella had found out about Alice's arranged marriage to Frank Longbottom. She had tried to convince the other girl that they could run away together but Alice didn't buy it.
"Please" Bellatrix whispered with tears in her eyes.
"Bella" Alice said as she shook her head, "You know that's not a viable plan. I don't want to lose my family and I'm sure you don't either."
Bella shook her head in disgust. Alice clearly did not take her seriously when Bella told her about her abysmal home life.
"I'd pick you over them any day" Bellatrix swore.
"I'm sorry Bella" said Alice. She reached out to give the girl one final hug but Bellatrix flinched back and out of reach.
Bellatrix always suspected that she would lose her one day. She never truly understood what Alice saw in her, she was never good enough. Her family was a stain on her soul that she would never truly be ride of. She never wanted to feel this kind of pain again.
She clenched her jaw and allowed herself one final guttural scream of pain before she shut down her emotions and slowly walked back towards the school.
