I knew what was happening the minute it happened. My dead heart would be shattering into a million pieces if it hadn't already. I nodded briefly to Jacob. The signal, as we planned. Aro watched the exchange carefully, trying to figure out what was going on. His facial reaction made me roll my eyes. I kissed them both goodbye and said the final statement to end the war.
"Ok, we'll join," I said slowly. I glanced around at everyone. Telling everyone to run with my eyes. The only ones left was Edward, Alice, and I. The rest had been spared. I exhaled, relieved that everyone still lived including my precious daughter renesmee. Aro smiled happily as we ran alongside him to Italy.
When we arrived he threw a cloak at us. Edward looked at me sadly, as I put it on over my battle clothes. I knew it was feeding time. I took my shield down. Do you think we could hunt somewhere else I thought tracing the dark circles under his eyes. I knew that the human blood would tantalize us, but I wanted to stay away from that. If I ever wanted to see my family again it was the only way. He nodded, we stepped out. Alice at our heels.
"Aro" Edward called coldly. Aro turned towards Edwards voice. He already knew what edward wanted and smirked.
"Of course newbies" he said to innocently, and I knew he had something up his sleeves-or cloak rather-because edward bared his teeth.
"Hold you breath" he whispered to me, and alice. I knew it before I smelled it. He brought in the humans. I did as Edward told me to, and together we ran out of the room. When we made it to the forest we hunted for our own food. Satisfied with a few bears and mountain lions we headed back.
When we made it to our new room, I laid on his chest. I was nervous about this new life ahead of us. I took my shield down once more, and edward relaxed. I thought about renesmee, and let my mind open up, letting him see all my memories. I gasped when something under me disappeared, and I was in front of Aro. I bared my teeth, but spoke only what he wanted to hear.
"Master," I said curiously, trying to sound calm.
"Tomorrow we are having a special ceremony welcoming you, edward, and alice to a special place in the guard, along with a place in the clan. It is not hard, and we already have a room set up for you and alice to try on some dresses. I hope you know we mean you no harm" He said. Part of me wanted to accept the gift, another part wanted to get back to Edward. I glanced around nervously for someone to back me up, but no one was there. Jane smirked, and I knew I had no choice.
"Thank you Aro," I whispered as kindly as I could. I was escorted towards a flustered Alice.
"Alice what's wrong" I asked. Her face fell.
"I can't see anything" She nearly screeched pulling me towards the the other side of the room. I knew what this meant. Something was blocking her visions. I sighed, and held alice's soulders.
"We will get out of this, but we need to pretend like nothing's wrong". I said, and pulled her into the dressing room to try on the dresses. She allowed it, and reluctantly pulled the first dress onto her head.
The next morning another guard walked in. I sighed, as me and Alice were brought back to the main room. My immediately searched for Edward. When I found him, he was in a black, and red Tuxedo standing next to Aro. He shot me a pained expression as we made our way to him. I stood next to him, with Alice on my left. I decided to this was my new life, and this, was going to last until we were rescued.
18 years later
-Renesmee's POV-
Jacob kissed me, once more before we left. Living with Esme, and Carlisle my whole life was hard. Never knowing my parents because they had left with the Volturi, on a vacation. I knew they were sparing my feelings and I went with it so I wouldn't be heart broken. However today we-Jacob and I-were going to italy to get them back.
