the lab was dimly lit by the screens and lihts from the machines lining the walls and on the tables, a lone sylvari, grunted as he lifted a metal box onto a table, lucky there was actually room for the box with all the other tools and gedgets that littered its surface. He put on some thick gloves and goggles before opening the box and picking up a glowing and sparking crystal, about the size of an apple, surprisingly equalateral on all ends. the sylvari brought thethe crystal to what looked of an asura gate, going to the control panel connected to its side. he put the crystal in an compartment, put in some commands and then pulled a lever, stepping back as the gate sparked and whirred to life. he'd pull his goggles off for a better view of his accomplishment before turning to the well dressed human male with the heavy coat, glasses, and ponytail who walked in. the man walked up next to the sylvari, looking the machine up and down with narrowed blue eyes, " you've been cooped up in here for what, two years? just to make an asura gate? we already have those " the man scoffed, looking unimpressed but the sylvari was undetered. " this one is different, it needs no exit gate as it makes its own, but more impressively it should give us access to an alrenate universe, a world like ours but where one choice made everything different " the sylvari said excitedly, going back to the control panel and studying the code and results coming from whatever world he had connected to. the human came over to peek over his shoulder, a brow raised, " and why would we even need something like this? " he questioned. the sylvari 'tch tch tch'd the human, " its for science m'lord, and think of it this way, if anything you could see what the you in this world is like and what choice was made that made their world better, or worse than ours " he said, doing a fw more things, " its worth a little peek wouldnt you think? ". the human hummed in thought, glancing back at the glowing portal, " we'll send a team in to investigate and see what they find but i had better be impressed since you wasted so much funds on this, dont disapoint me Issun " he said before turning and walking off.
