"You aren't serious Jean." James sighed as Jean told him her plans to be a surrogate for her son Chris and his new wife Georgina.
"I don't expect you to understand, I don't even expect you to stay with me but I have to do this for my son."
"Jean seriously, do you think you'd be able to give up a baby?"
"I'd manage it, its not as if I'd never see it, it'd be my grandchild."
"Can't you see baby, that just makes it worse. You'll have a certain bond and it'll make it hard for you knowing it isn't your baby."
"James you're either with me in this or you leave me but either way I'm doing this."
"I'm staying with you but Jean this won't be easy."
"James nothing worth doing in life is easy."
"Yes but carrying your sons baby is not what whoever had in mind when they said that statement."
"Look nothing's definite yet, I mean we have to go to a clinic and talk it through with a doctor first but we're hoping it'll be alright. Chris and Georgina will be here in an hour to have a chat before we go to the hospital later and I want you up and happy about this or out of sight."
"What you had this all planned without me?!"
"I had to so that it all made sense when I told you."
"What about me Jean? I'll be there for all the major points of pregnancy but when it comes to it, it won't be my baby."
"I didn't think that would be a problem because I didn't think you wanted kids."
"I didn't but my point is we'll both form a bond with this baby and you'll have to cope with morning sickness and it kicking and cravings and I'm going to be there with you. It's not going to be easy for either of us Jean."
"Well this may all be pointless James because it may not even be possible. Nothing has to be decided just yet let's just wait and see what the doctor says and we can talk tonight."
