She was pouring over her latest medical textbook, reading about appendiceal tumors and whatnot, when it suddenly hit her. She didn't even know which of these medical jargons prompted it, but it just did.
She wouldn't be able to feel completely whole, completely happy, if she didn't let go of these pining, remorseful, wondering, angsty, hoping, and maybe even hateful, feelings towards Sasuke- kun. And that-
She emphasized as she dropped her pen on the table, reclined on her seat and closed her eyes to ponder-
and That scares her more than the thought of not being able to fulfill her childhood dreams of happily-ever-afters with Prince Charming.
To feel this heaviness everyday when she should be happy, when it should not matter anymore because finally, Finally, team 7 is complete again. Her Sasuke is here again. But she knows that no matter how adept she is at hiding this, it would eventually leak and show itself. It will surely affect all of them and she does not want that to happen. Because ever since that day, that fateful day at the Forest, she vowed to do her best for everybody. That she will not be a burden to anybody.
She just didn't know then that that vow would in turn make her live to the fullest for her own self actualization. That somewhere in her journey to bringing him home, it became her own journey to a deeper sense of happiness.
And this, she realizes, this epiphany, is that fork in road. She could either go to the road labeled in her map, to Sasuke-whom-her-heart-has-yearned-for-since-time-i mmemorial, or to this road that was until then uncharted in her map, and discover for herself where this would lead to.
She opened her eyes to be met with the picture of all four of them- Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto and Kakashi sensei- during her genin days. She glanced at the clock on the other side of her desk. There's still 1 hour before their team 7' s daily training. A smile slowly formed on her lips. She breathed deeply and as she slowly exhaled, she let her worries fade along with her breathe.
She knows she's afraid, because whatever she decides, it will not be a walk in the park. But she also knows that prolonging this indecision will not take her any closer to her destination. So with the hope that all will end well, she takes a step forward.
She has made her decision.

A/N: just a little something to appease you of my non-updates. While I was studying for my exam, this came to me, so I immediately typed in my IPad which did not require me to wait, unlike my lappy. Another reason, apart from exams, why I wasn't able to update, loading of my laptop takes too much time, time that I can use for the studying. And yet you have time to do this? shush conscience! Let me get away with rationalizing!

This is a oneshot and can stand alone, but while typing, an idea came to me for a multichap, but you know me, and like I've just said in my updated profile, I can't commit to strict regular schedule given school requirements. But I'm seriously considering it, who knows, with some push -wink!wink!-haha!
