Prologue

Dear Reader,

Being a demigod probably sounds great. Thrilling adventures, magical beings, a camp where everyone fits in - but let me tell you, it's not all fun and games. I would never choose the be a demigod, no sir. It's terrifying. Monsters who want to kill you everywhere you go, and then there's all of my parents old enemies out to get me. Trust me, you don't want to live the life I live. But I'm sure you'd like to hear my harrowing story while you're safe in your bed or half reading before you fall asleep.

I am Cassandra Jackson, but everyone calls me Cassie. Most of you have read the books my father, Percy Jackson, wrote. I'm sure if you read those this whole demigod thing we be a lot more clear. I am the daughter of Percy and Annabeth Jackson. My dad wrote about his adventures with Annabeth in his autobiography. Sure, the book is labeled as "fiction" but I know the real truth.

I grew up in an apartment in New York City. It was in that small apartment on the 10th floor where I found out who I really was.
Before I get into this, though, I must give you a warning. You may be absolutely terrified of the monsters I am about to describe. Some of the events I am about to retell may be difficult to believe. But whether you chose to believe them or not, they did happen. I'm sure of it.

In all demigodishness,

Cassandra Jackson
