Author's Note: I am terribly behind on my drabbling, but I recently re-watched The End, and I adore human!Cas, I want him back! And I got inspired. So I did this week's and last week's, and I'm publishing together 'cause they kinda just go together.

Square
Times are dark. It has been almost two weeks since the angels jumped ship. And with Dean's (extremely embarrassed) help, Castiel is very slowly learning the mechanics of humanity; things like dressing and undressing, sleeping, and how to relieve himself.

He is also slowly, but surely, learning the more complicated, and often unpleasant, effects of humanity. Things like pain, and loneliness, fear and helplessness. He learns what it is to be too cold, and too hot.

But some things he learns aren't so bad. He discovers chocolate, little squares of happiness.

Then he learns about sex. And that's even better.

Drift
They sit quietly, eating their meager rations. A few small groups drift together to mutter in hushed whispers, but for the most part things are drearily quiet.

Castiel, still new to the discovery of flavors, is the only one enthused about the bland food. They pay him little attention, indulgently letting him at it.

Until the quiet is abruptly broken by a loud hiccup. The look on Castiel's face, somewhere between confusion, shock, and fright, breaks all the tension with an audible snap.

It's almost an hour before anyone manages to calm down enough to explain to Castiel what's happening.
