Disclaimer: Alas, Naruto does not belong to me…I don't know how many people would actually read it if I did…

Well someone reviewed the last chapter of Heart of Gold a while back and said I should make a short little oneshot sequel about what happened in their lives after the story line. I thought it was a really good idea, but I don't really like oneshots, so I didn't think I would actually do it…and now, for some odd reason, I really want to…even though it's been about…7 months since I finished uploading Heart of Gold. But hopefully you all like it!

Also, I'm going to start uploading a new D. Gray-Man fic soon…once my lovely friend proofreads it!

Eight years had passed since Orochimaru had been killed and Naruto's life had taken a turn for the best. Once Naruto had recovered from his ordeal with Orochimaru, almost everything in his life changed. It came as a big shock to the blonde, who had been blamed and hurt for five years of his life because of something he didn't even do. Almost everyone that had hurt him in the past apologized and did everything they could to make up for what they had done. Naruto didn't blame any of them for what they had done to him—he just wasn't one to place blame, even when it should have been placed.

Of course, there were some who would not accept the truth. Some people just cannot accept that what they believe is wrong, even if the proof is right in front of their faces. These few people were not paid much heed.

Naruto continued to live with Kakashi and Iruka until it came time for college. He and Sasuke ended up attending the same college and rooming together. Iruka had an especially hard time when Naruto left, feeling like Naruto was his own child. Kakashi, although he felt the same, wasn't as much of a maternal sort as Iruka was, so he wasn't as saddened by Naruto's leaving.

Itachi, trying to keep up his emotionless façade, acted as though he wasn't bothered at all when Sasuke left. Everyone who knew him knew this wasn't true, though. Deidara, on the other hand, was about as emotional as Iruka.

While Naruto and Sasuke were away at college, Kakashi proposed to Iruka, and of course Iruka said yes. They had the wedding in the summer so that Naruto and Sasuke would be able to stay at home for a while before and after the wedding.

A year or so later, Itachi popped the question to Deidara, who said yes before Itachi had even finished asking. So Naruto and Sasuke were in another wedding for their loved ones.

The two lovers also kept in touch with their other friends. They weren't at all surprised to learn that Gaara and Neji had gotten together. However, they were slightly shocked when Sakura told them she and Lee were dating.

After graduating from college, Naruto and Sasuke bought a house together back in Konoha, close to Iruka and Kakashi's house. The two were currently at the end of the process of adopting a child from one of the many orphanages in Konoha. They were actually getting ready to leave their house to pick up the little girl from the orphanage now. She was not yet a year old, but she already had a full head of red hair. She had been unnamed when she was left at the orphanage a little over month before, so Naruto and Sasuke were given the privilege of naming her. As soon as they saw her, they immediately decided to name her Kushina, Naruto's mother's name.

They were so excited to be able to care for a child and make sure her life was the best they could give. They knew the future was uncertain, but they would do all they could to make sure Kushina was well cared for and loved.

It's true, what they say: "Bad things happen to good people."

But good things can also happen to good people, and Naruto was one of these people.

The End…for good this time.
