The Music Box
When the Music Box plays,
The time is nigh,
While the final verse,
Leaves life and death intertwined.
Its melody rings,
like the Chariot's bells.
It's made up of strings,
and covered in shells.
Its clockwork impeccably timed.
to produce each and every note.
Each cog and gear aligned,
and each part is devote.
This box is a reminder,
of times long ago,
When people were kinder,
and there was no foe.
Ninian sat on her bed,
and listened to the tune.
A couple tears were shed,
for she knew her time was soon.
Eliwood walked in,
to see his wife.
And much to his chagin,
he realized she was at the end of her life.
They hugged once more,
To depart as friends.
She was done for,
this was her end.
Their son Roy crawled in,
perplexed by the sight.
Unaware that for Mamma Nin,
and this was her final night.
Ninian's last hour,
she spent among kin.
The she lost her power,
and pale became her skin.
She longed for Nils,
in this final hour.
To overcome her chills,
and no longer cower.
But alas he was gone,
She knew the choice she made.
So she let out a yawn,
and her soul started to fade.
Then the music ceased exposure,
As the melody was done.
The performance is over,
with Death she was one.
/Author's Note/ This was certainly... darker than my last poetry. Nin's probably my favorite character in Rekka and one of my favorite in the series as a whole. Unfortunately, she's doomed by canon leaving her story with a bittersweet ending. A part of me wanted to give her a send off that was fitting to her. Do remember, the dancer is in a music box, and said box's music has similarities to her theme (Reminiscence) from Rekka. I hope this wasn't too dark and all feedback is appreciated. All the best.
